1/18 about 10am it started raining. This turned to snow. Enough that it was covering the ground & things in the yard. It stopped a noon. So that is 2 hours. The snow was very wet. Not enough to measure on the snowboard, but .10" in the gauge, this was slushy frozen water. By 3pm the snow had completely melted. That's AZ!!! This morning we are completely cloud covered again. Calm with 35.6F low. Current 39.8F at 7:30. It was raining at 10pm altho I don't know when it started. So we have .89" including the .10" from yesterday. So this is the beginning of a monster storm they tell me. |

It is raining as I emptied the gauge. Most of yesterday's snow is gone, just a few spots. Complete cloud cover, no wind. We have a small arroya running across our property & it is running, but not flooding yet. Now the bad news. We are leaving this morning & won't be home until late Sat. So I will miss the big storm. Stayed over an extra day due to road closure. Yesterday came home thru Globe & while we went around 87 was opened. Glad to be home. |

11:30am snowed for about an hour. My husband said it was about 1" but I didn't measure. Later another short spurt. 2:50pm all melted, measured .25" precipt. Snowed again later. Wind blew hard in the evening. Completely clear this morning, sunny shining brightly. Little wind. No frost, but everything is frozen. Even the water puddle we had for a couple days is gone. The nice rain we got last week has brought out the little yellow flowers. A hill down the road by Shoo Fly Indian ruins is completely covered in gold. They are in the forest & along the roads, beautiful. Light dew this morning. Calm, no clouds, still warm but a nice AZ day. |
