As I checked the 5 Wx-Pod guages yesterday it was still precipitating lightly. All had rain drop dust and it was most prevelant in the two that had been washed, dried, and treated w/ Rain*Ex. I found it also helped those last drops in the gauge run off into the measuring tube. I do not place the funnel or tube in the guauge as I fear a fast hail storm may plug up the funnel and spill out moisture. I also treated the funnels and tubes... |

On way to the Springs we observed that at Hwy 287 bridge no water was presently flowing, but at Hwy 94 and Rush Creek the water was over the banks... Then on our return from the Springs we again observed that the water level although still very high, was receding yet Rush creek was very full and again not running yet at Hwy 287 at about 1600hrs. A light "T" was detected 2 miles South of Kit Carson to Eads as we traveled,... Alot of sparse flooding thru-out the Hwy 94 corridor from Hwy 287 to about Punkin, Co. w/ water standing in the pastures here and there, no other creeks were running from the Springs to Eads...This observation was taken on the 31st july 2010 |
