10/25/2009 7:00 AM 0.33 T 0.01 T 0.01 The inner cylinder and funnel were on the gauge overnight and when I awoke there were some snow/ice pellets accumulated above the inner cylinder in the funnel (.01" melted) and .32" of water in the inner funnel. It was too cold this AM for the snow/ice accumulation to melt. Rain began late night on 10/24 around 11:00 or so and must have transitioned to snow overnight/ early AM. A light layer (trace) of icy/snow pellets covered the ground and didn't melt off until about 8:30-9:00 AM. The "melted value from the core" reported here = the melted ice/snow pellets that had accumulated in the funnel. This seems a fairly accurate but maybe unconventional method of at least reporting the melted value of the icy pellet precipitation, which I'm calling snow.
