12/4/2009 5:00 AM T T M M M Quite cold, 22 degrees; 30.03 Hg; 60% RH; overcast skies; with a gentle breeze from the West. We had a trace of hail yesterday - the small soft snowy type; and a trace of snow overnight.

I would say the difference in melted values is due to locations of the board and the gauge and wind direction.
12/9/2009 5:00 AM 0.86 6.3 0.92 7.0 1.15 Freezing cold, 31 degrees; 28.88 Hg; 95% RH; overcast skies; with a moderate breeze gusting to a fresh breeze from the SW.

12/11/2009 5:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M 6.0 0.26 Bone chilling cold, -5 degrees; 30.12 Hg; 41% RH; crystal clear skies; with light air from the West; and nothing in the gauge or on the board. The top 3 or 4 inches is light loose snow and then there is a hard layer below that.
12/12/2009 7:10 AM 0.00 0.0 0.00 5.5 0.94 Very cold, 13 degrees; 30.15 Hg; 65% RH; partly cloudy with high thin mares tails overhead and thicker clouds along the Southeastern horizon spreading along the Southern and Western horizons; with a light to gentle breeze from the SW. the top 2" of snow is loosely packed then you hit a hard layer of denser snow.

12/16/2009 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 0.00 3.5 1.09 Bone chilling cold, -4 degrees; 30.45 Hg; 47% RH; crystal clear skies; and calm air from the NW w/a light frost. The only thing I can think of to account for the increase in melted value from yesterday to today is that I am moving into what was a thicker drift before the warm up settled everything.
12/17/2009 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 3.0 0.79 Quite cold, 16 degrees; 30.21 Hg and falling; 61% RH and rising; partly cloudy with high thin clouds obscuring most of the stars; light air from the NW; and a very light frost.

12/19/2009 7:00 AM 0.10 1.0 0.13 4.5 1.07 Freezing cold, 26 degrees; 29.85 Hg; 72% RH; with light air from the NE. The measurements off the board (.1" depth & 0.03" melted) are not representative of the new snowfall and were not used as the snow melted as it fell on hard surfaces. I did take a core of new snow from on top of the old snow and it was closer to the gauge measurement and that is what is reported below, even though it may contain some old snow in the melt.
12/20/2009 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 3.5 0.94 Freezing cold, 23 degrees; 30.00 Hg; 72% RH; overcast skies; with light air from the NNW; and a light frost. The top 1" of snow is loosely packed and the rest denser.
12/21/2009 5:00 AM 0.01 0.2 0.02 4.0 0.94 Freezing cold, 24 degrees; 30.00 Hg; 78% RH; overcast skies with light air from the WNW. Although the gauge and board show minimal accumulation, I show almost 1/2" new snow on the ground. This could be due to melting of early snow on contact with hard surfaces and location of the various collections.
12/22/2009 5:00 AM 0.25 3.5 0.30 7.5 0.95 Freezing cold, 24 degrees; 30.06 Hg; 78% RH; overcast skies; with a light breeze from the ENE; and snowing at time of measurement. Again, wind and location would account for difference in gauge and board melted values.
12/23/2009 5:00 AM 0.08 1.5 0.23 5.0 0.63 Freezing cold, 29 degrees; 30.09 Hg; 78% RH; overcast skies; with a moderate breeze from the ENE. I would say the measurement from the board is more accurate than the catch in the gauge.
12/28/2009 5:00 AM T M M 7.5 1.89 Freezing cold,24 degrees; 29.83 Hg; 75% RH; overcast skies; w/a moderate breeze from the West. Due to drifting, I could not take a new snow reading other than the trace in the gauge - there was almost 4" of snow on the board, but i know it should be more in the area of 0.2 to 0.4 inches of light loosely packed snow.
12/29/2009 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.5 1.53 Bone chilling cold, -3 degrees; 30.33 Hg; 57% RH; crystal clear skies; calm to light air from the South; with a good frost. Once again the board was covered with drift, and it is becoming extremely hard to find a location to get a true depth reading, although today's might be more representative than yesterdays. It is also hard to get a good core as the bottom layer is almost solid ice.
12/30/2009 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.5 1.28 Quite cold, 16 degrees; 30.09 Hg; 68% RH; overcast skies; a light breeze from the SSE; and a light frost.
12/31/2009 7:00 AM 0.04 0.9 0.10 6.5 1.46 Freezing cold, 29 degrees; 29.85 Hg; 79% RH; overcast skies; light air to a light breeze from the West; with no frost.
1/1/2010 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.0 1.03 Extremely cold, -6 degrees; 30.21 Hg; 46% RH; clear skies overhead with clouds low on the South horizon and higher on the Western horizon; light air from the West; and a moderate frost. I am not confident of the accuracy of total snow measurements. Once again, the board was covered with a layer of drift, so my snow cover keeps shifting and changing; also, the bottom layer is now solid ice, which means my total depth and water equivalent should be more than reported as I could not penetrate the last 1/4 inch or so.
1/2/2010 7:30 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.0 1.04 Extremely cold, -7 degrees; 24.30 Hg? (battery dying): 49% RH; clear skies all around except for clouds just peeking above the Western horizon; calm air; and a moderate frost.
1/3/2010 5:10 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Extremely cold, -13 degrees; 36% RH; clear skies; with calm to light air from the East. Everything is too frozen to allow core samples, but I would estimate no change from yesterday.
1/4/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Bone chilling cold, -4 degrees; 30.24 Hg; 21% RH; clear skies; a gentle breeze from the NW; and a heavy frost.

Still cannot find a spot to penetrate old snow, except in deep drifts.

Snowfall and moisture content measurements are basically unchanged; w/latest dry snow drifted into the low spots to level the surface, and older snow frozen solid and impenetrable.
1/14/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Freezing cold, 29 degrees; 29.85 Hg; 26% RH (unheated basement); clear but hazy skies; a gentle to moderate breeze from the SW; and no frost.

I decided to try a core sample and measured 2.5" depth which produced 0.35" melted value; however this did not penetrate to the ground, leaving approx. 1" of frozen snow (not ice) on the ground - which is why these values are reported below as totals.
1/16/2010 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.0 1.04 Quite cold, 21 degrees; 30.09 Hg; 27% RH (unheated basement @ 55 degrees); overcast skies with a thick fog in the open country, but almost non-existent in town; a gentle breeze from the SW; and no frost.

1/24/2010 6:30 AM 0.50 0.0 M 2.0 0.76 Cold, 36 degrees; 29.12 Hg; 36% RH (unheated basement); overcast skies and raining lightly at time of observation with fog diminishing visibility to less than 1-1/2 miles; with light air to a light breeze from the SE. Yesterday's warm temperatures and strong winds have reduced the snow cover considerably; but the plowed snowbanks and underlying ice still remain substantially intact. Construction of a new sewer line south of town has disrupted flow of the drainage ditches and a slough; which could cause local field flooding in the areas around it , especially along the southwest corner of town.
1/25/2010 5:00 AM 0.07 0.0 M 1.5 0.65 Freezing cold, 29 degrees; 29.23 Hg; 33% RH (unheated basement); overcast skies; a strong gentle breeze gusting to a moderate breeze from the WSW; and no frost. I thought I might have seen a snow flake or two blow by. Snow cover is varied from bare ground in the open fields to between 1-2 feet in plowed drifts and ditches.
1/26/2010 5:00 AM T T M M M Quite cold, 15 degrees; 29.62 Hg & rising; 27% RH (unheated basement); overcast skies; a strong moderate breeze gusting to a fresh breeze from the West; and no frost. There was a trace of snow in the gauge, but the board was swept clean. Last night's strong winds and bitter cold have made it impossible to obtain any reliable readings this morning.
1/27/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 1.0 M Very cold, 5 degrees; 30.03 Hg; 45% RH; clear skies; a gentle breeze from the West; and no frost. The total snow/ice depth is an estimate of the average depth, which varies greatly - there are vast bare patches in the open fields. The cover is too frozen to penetrate with a ruler and impossible to take a core sample.
1/28/2010 5:00 AM T M M M M Very cold, 4 degrees; 30.15 Hg; 70% RH; mostly clear but hazy looking skies; a moderate breeze from the NW; and no frost. Again strong winds and frigid conditions make measurements impossible. I would estimate we got less than 1/10" new snow with 0.01" or less water value; but there was just a trace in the gauge.
1/29/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Bone chilling cold, -1 degrees; 30.39 Hg; 41% RH; mostly cloudy with thin mid level clouds - I can see one star and the moon through the clouds; a light breeze from the NE; and no frost. I estimate snow cover at approx. 1". However what is there is either frozen snow and ice or powder in blown drifts, with deeper banks along roads and many bare patches.
1/30/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 1.0 M Very cold, 8 degrees; 30.15 Hg; 43% RH; mostly cloudy with thin broken mid-level clouds and a clear pocket from overhead stretching to the NE; calm air gusting to light air from the NE; and no frost. Average snow cover, not including plowed banks and drifts, still estimated with slightly more bare ground visible.
1/31/2010 6:45 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very cold, 6 degrees; 30.09 Hg; 47% RH; clear skies with fog visible along the South and Southeast horizon (probably extending all around) reducing visibility to less than 2 miles; a light breeze from the West; and a decent frost.
2/1/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.5 M Quite cold, 21 degrees; 29.56 Hg; 45% RH; overcast skies, although i can see the moon through the thin cloud cover; light air from the East; and no frost. Snow cover varies from bare ground, especially in sheltered areas under trees to several inches or a foot or more in banks and drifts.
2/2/2010 5:00 AM T 0.5 0.01 1.0 M Freezing cold, 29 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 67% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; a light breeze from the SE; and no frost. Snow is light, loosely packed and dry, with little moisture content for depth. Total snow depth would be an estimated average, with old snow frozen solid
2/3/2010 5:00 AM T 0.1 T 1.0 M Quite cold, 18 degrees; 29.5 Hg; 54% RH; Overcast skies; a gentle breeze from the WNW gusting to a moderate breeze; and no frost. Total snow depth is an estimate as old snow is frozen solid and new snow is light and has drifted overnight.
2/4/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quite cold, 22 degrees; 29.7 Hg; 54% RH; overcast skies with a moderate fog, reducing visibility to about 1 mile; calm air gusting to light air from the ESE.
2/5/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.5 M Freezing cold, 32 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 58% RH; overcast skies; light air, gusting to a light breeze, from the NE; and no frost. There might be a very light fog forming and the snow cover remains unchanged with a combination of frozen older cover and powdery drift. But still unable to get a true core sample.
2/6/2010 5:30 AM T 0.1 T 0.5 M Freezing cold, 26 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 50% RH; mostly cloudy with high, thin broken clouds overhead and a thicker cloud front to the East, extending from the NE to the SW; a light breeze gusting to a gentle breeze from the ENE; and no frost. New snow is dry with negligible water value.
2/7/2010 6:00 AM T T M M M Freezing cold, 23 degrees; 29.5 Hg; 48% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; calm to light air gusting to strong light air from the East, and no frost. The snow cover, now, is concentrated in the shade, where it had drifted and in plowed snowbanks, with large open areas of lawns and fields. My guess is the snow just started as there wasn't enough to even attempt a sample.
2/8/2010 5:00 AM T 0.2 T 0.5 0.08 Freezing cold, 23 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 54% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; light air gusting to a light breeze from the SE; and no frost. Total snow sample was 1" deep and melt 0.35". I divided by 2 for results listed because the coverage varies from a new dusting in open areas to more than a foot in drifts and plowed snowbanks, with an inch or so remaining in shaded areas.
2/9/2010 5:00 AM 0.13 2.8 0.19 M M Quite cold, 21 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 58% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly with a fine crystalline snow; light air gusting to a light breeze from the East; and no frost.
2/10/2010 5:00 AM 0.04 M M M M Freezing cold, 23 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 43% RH; clear but hazy looking skies, only the brightest stars are visible; a light breeze gusting to a gentle breeze from the NW; and no frost. It is impossible to determine new snow because the board is drifted over; but I would guess we got no more than 1" of new snow yesterday.
2/11/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Bone chilling cold, -3 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 40% RH; clear skies; light air gusting to a light breeze from the NW; and a heavy frost. I leave new snowfall as Na because I am not sure. I thought i saw some light snowfall last night when putting the dog out, but it could have been crystals just blowing off the roof.
2/12/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very cold, 10 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 44% RH; overcast skies with a hint of fog, only a few bright stars are visible; light air from the West; and a moderate to heavy frost.
2/13/2010 7:10 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Bone chilling cold, -4 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 44% RH; clear but hazy looking skies with a light haze or fog at ground level; calm air gusting to light air from the WNW; and a heavy rime or hoarfrost.
2/14/2010 6:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very cold, 4 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 44% RH; partly cloudy with high cloud cover from overhead to the South running from the Eastern to Western horizons and clear skies to the North (and clearing rapidly as the clouds move South); light air from the West; and a heavy frost.
2/15/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 4.0 0.49 Very cold, 11 degrees; 29.0 Hg & falling; 46% RH & rising; overcast skies; light air from the NW; and a heavy frost.
2/16/2010 5:00 AM 0.04 0.9 0.04 M M Freezing cold, 27 degrees; 29.1 Hg; 41% RH; overcast skies with small breaks low on the Sw and Western horizons; a light breeze gusting to a gentle breeze from the WNW; and no frost. After a day of extremely light snow flurries with little accumulation; steady, general snowfall began after dark. Used board melt as catch because I only got a trace in the gauge.
2/17/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Freezing cold, 27 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 40% RH; overcast skies with breaks low on the Eastern and Western horizons; light air gusting to a light breeze from the WNW; and no frost.
2/18/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quite cold, 21 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 47% RH; clear but hazy skies - there are no discernible clouds but only the brightest stars are visible; a light breeze gusting to a gentle breeze from the WNW; and no frost.
2/19/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very cold, 7 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 45% RH; clear skies; light air gusting to a light breeze from the NW; and a moderate frost.
2/20/2010 5:30 AM 0.02 0.8 0.07 M M Freezing cold, 32 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 56% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; a light breeze from the SE; and no frost. New snow is light and loosely packed. Warmer temperatures are beginning to take their toll on snowbanks exposed to the sunlight, but not on those in the shade.
2/21/2010 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M Cold, 33 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 60% RH; overcast skies with fog reducing visibility to about 1-1/2 miles; light air from the ENE; and no frost. Precip fell as light snow flurries most of the day, but warm temperatures allowed it to melt on contact with hard surfaces, leaving no trace on the board.
2/22/2010 5:00 AM 0.34 3.8 0.45 6.2 1.62 Cold, 33 degrees; 29.1 Hg; 62% RH; overcast skies; calm air (last from the NW); and no frost. No snow falling at this time. Snowfall is heavy and wet. I would place the board melt as more accurate than the gauge melt due to locations (the gauge is still on it's pole) and wind during the snowfall period.
2/23/2010 5:00 AM 0.03 0.5 0.04 M M Freezing cold, 28 degrees; 29.1 Hg; 64% RH; overcast skies; a light breeze from the WNW; and no frost. Yesterday's precip started as fine rain sometime after sunset and later changed to fine snow which continued on and off all night; and presently is falling as large wet flakes.
2/24/2010 5:00 AM T 0.3 0.01 M M Quite cold, 19 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 49% RH; overcast skies; a gusty light breeze from the NW; and no frost. New snow was dry and loosely packed; yielding very little moisture.
2/25/2010 5:00 AM T 0.1 T M M Very cold, 11 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 43% RH; clear skies; light air from the NNW; and a very light frost. We had light flurries on and off most of the day, with little accumulation.
2/26/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very cold, 13 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 42% RH; clear skies; light air; and a decent frost.
2/27/2010 7:40 AM T T M M M Freezing cold, 27 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 39% RH; overcast skies; light air gusting to a light breeze from the NW; and no frost. There was the slightest trace of fine granular snow in the gauge, but nothing collectable on the board.
2/28/2010 6:10 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Freezing cold, 26 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 47% RH; mostly cloudy skies - broken mid to high-level clouds extending from north to south across the eastern half of the sky with the Western edge approximately directly overhead; light air from the NW; and no frost.
3/1/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 1.5 0.52 Freezing cold, 30 degrees; 29.5 Hg; 50% RH; overcast skies; calm air gusting to light air anywhere from the NW to the NE; and no frost. Snow depth varies greatly, from bare ground to almost 6" in some areas, and is now more ice granuals than snow.
3/2/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quite cold, 19 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 50% RH; clear skies; calm air gusting to light air from the West; and a heavy frost.
3/3/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quite cold, 17 degrees; 29.3 Hg; 46% RH; mostly clear skies, with a cloud bank running along the Eastern and Southeastern horizon; light air gusting to a light breeze from the North; and a heavy frost. Snow cover varies from approx. 1/2" to several inches with almost 50% clear ground. I would estimate it would yield about 1/2" coverage if leveled out.
3/4/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Quite cold, 19 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 40% RH; calm air gusting to a light breeze, last from the WNW; mostly cloudy skies with a clear area from just south of overhead of to the South, broken mid-level clouds to the East and north and a thicker cloud bank on the Western horizon; and no frost. Snow cover is down to around 50% coverage with depths limited to an inch or less, except in ditches, shaded areas, and plowed banks along roads - and the latter are much eroded on the south side.
3/5/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Quite cold, 17 degrees; 29.6 Hg; 44% RH; clear skies, calm to light air from the NW; and a heavy frost. Snow cover is fast disappearing with 25-30% coverage, and that is not very deep, except in ditches, along roads, and in the shade.
3/6/2010 7:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Quite cold, 22 degrees; 29.7 Hg; 50% RH; clear skies with clouds low on the Western horizon and a moderate ground fog reducing visibility to less than one mile; calm air gusting to light air from the NE; and a heavy frost. Although disappearing fast, snow still exists in shaded areas, around plowed parking lots, and along some roadways.
3/7/2010 6:30 AM T 0.0 M T M Freezing cold, 32 degrees; 29.5 Hg; 53% RH; overcast skies with a very light fog or precipitation obscured view, limiting visibility to under 2 miles; calm to light air from the NE; and no frost. There are signs of very light precip on the board and gauge sides, which I believe to be rain rather than snow. Widely scattered, yet large patches of snow still exist, even in the open fields, where depths are still over 1" in places; but total coverage is reduced substantially.
3/8/2010 5:00 AM 0.23 0.0 M T M Cold, 33 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 68% RH; unknown skies with a dense fog reducing visibility to less than 1/8 of a mile; calm air gusting to light air from the NW; and no frost.
3/9/2010 5:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Freezing cold, 32 degrees; 29.2 Hg; 72% RH; undetermined skies with dense fog limiting visibility to less than 1/8 of a mile; a light breeze from the East; and no frost. Any signs of precipitation are more likely condensation, as there is nothing in the gauge.
3/10/2010 5:00 AM 0.37 0.0 M T M Cold, 42 degrees; 28.8 Hg; 76% RH; overcast skies and raining steadily; a light breeze gusting to a gentle breeze from the ESE; and no frost. Some snow still remains in deeply shaded areas and where piled deeply from plowing streets or parking lots.
3/11/2010 5:00 AM T 0.0 M T M Extremely cool, 43 degrees; 28.8 Hg; 72% RH; overcast skies; with a light to gentle breeze from the ESE. If there was any accumulation from yesterday's rain, it evaporated with the warm sun and mild breezes yesterday afternoon. And, there are still some traces of snow and ice in the deep shade and remnants of deep drifts.
3/12/2010 5:00 AM 0.17 M M M M Cold, 34 degrees; 28.9 Hg; 76% RH; clear? skies with a fairly dense fog (visibility about 1/8 mile, but I can see the stars and the outlines of low clouds, probably the top of the fog); calm air gusting to light air from the ENE; and no frost but a heavy condensation.
3/13/2010 6:30 AM 0.43 0.0 M 0.0 M Extremely cool, 43 degrees; 28.7 Hg; 68% RH; overcast skies and raining; a gentle breeze gusting to a moderate breeze from the NE; the snow is finally all gone; and the robins have returned.
3/14/2010 6:30 AM 0.12 0.0 M 0.0 M Cold, 39 degrees; 29.0 Hg; 69% RH; cloudy with just a few small breaks between clouds; with light air gusting to a light breeze from the ENE.

3/21/2010 6:10 AM 0.16 0.2 0.08 1.5 0.22 Freezing cold, 30 degrees; 29.4 Hg; 57% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; light air to a light breeze from the NE; and no frost. Snow depth varies from a tenth on bare ground and some hard surfaces to 2" on grassy surfaces. Total reported is an estimated average. Today, the gauge report for new snow would probably be more accurate than the board report due to above freezing temperatures and melting during the daytime.
3/22/2010 4:25 AM T T M T M Freezing cold, 29 degrees;29.2 Hg; 39% RH; mostly clear skies with a cloud bank low on the East to Southeast horizon; light air gusting to a light breeze from the NNE; and no dew or frost. there are just a few small shallow patches of snow in the farm furrows - just enough to be noted as I could only see one or two across a whole acre. Form required entering a Trace for the gauge reading even though there was nothing in it - but I did observe a trace f snow during my reading yesterday.

Received rain in at least three waves of strong storms. approx. 0.30 in the afternoon, 0.40 in the early evening, and the rest overnight. I can see minor field flooding, in this case probably caused as much by recent sanitary sewer construction which changed the drainage pattern for that area as by heavy rainfall. I was offline during the strongest storm, but recorded a 43.5 mph gust during the second. An afternoon storm gust broke a healthy 4" branch growing about 10' up off and dropped it at about a 90 degree angle to direction of growth.

It must have rained overnight because we sure didn't get more than a sprinkle before sunset; although we drove through a downpour so hard we were down to 35 mph on the Interstate and some people were even pulling off to the side.

Total snow cover is 8" w/0.65 water equiv. Conditions @ time of observation: Quite cold, 15 degrees & rising; 39.77 Hg; 71% RH; overcast skies and snowing lightly; w/a light breeze from the WSW. Notes: despite the high rain totals, which penetrated the ground, there was little snow melt as temperatures hoovered near freezing. New snow is light and fluffy, and old snow is more like loosely packed ice crystals. I have been here, but w/out electricity for over 50 hours, so this was low on my priority list. Not a fun holiday!
9/12/2010 9/14/2010 5:00 AM 3 0.06 M M The true time of observation is 5:00 AM. Current conditions: Extremely cool, 48 degrees; 29.37 Hg; 51% RH and rising; mostly cloudy w/broken mid-level clouds (clearer to the North); calm to light air; and a light dew. Although I can't be sure; I believe the total catch is from the morning of Saturday, the 12th.
