It had rained before, so the melted snow and rain in the open gauge measured 1.0. It is noon now, and it's melting quickly. It was coming down in huge wet flakes, around an inch in diameter. It was very beautiful, but I'm glad it's gonna be gone for Mardi Gras!

The ground sucked it up immediately. Things look a bit greener n the corn in the northern end of the parish looks good. If we don't get more rain, it will not make ears. It is a critical time for rain for the corn. I checked my one cherry tomato plant this morning n I found that THREE hickory horned devils had eaten half of it overnight. I also encountered a snake. All of the creatures are searching for moisture.
