Just got back from Christmas shopping. Left at 4 this morning. It was beautiful! Snowing like crazy. It was lightly raining yesterday and last night. We went to the movies and when we came out at 10:30, the cars were covered with a thin layer of ice that had to be scraped. The parking lot was also coated and slippery, as were the roads. Was not reported by the tv stations, but maybe was not picked up on radar. It lightly rained most of the afternoon yesterday. It is beautiful outside. The snow plows are plowing my subdivision. ( surprised!) We got the day off from school. All but one school district closed down for the day. It was quite an active night last night. We had two tornado warnings, one at six and another at midnight. All the storms were coming out of Wisconsin across Lake Michigan and right down I-94, however when they got near Jackson, they went to the south, so we did not get the bad storms. We had some rain, not as much as other areas around us, but a half inch is good. We got .51 total. It is hot and very humid out this morning. It is 78 degrees right now according to my temperature gauge. I don't know if we are in store for more storms today, but tomorrow will be another stormy day and possibly night. We leave for vacation tomorrow, going to the west side of Michigan, which tends to rock and roll more than we do. My reports will resume again on Friday, July 30th after tomorrow's report. |

I had a doctor's appointment, so I was not able to post until now. We had a couple of downpours last night. The temperature now is 71 degrees and it is foggy out in some places. It is also quite humid. But, we finally got rain. It is raining right now also. |

It is 68 degrees right now and it is cloudy out. Pavement and grass are both very wet. It rained during the late morning and afternoon yesterday. It did quit around 6 or so, but did rain again in the early morning around 2:30 or so, it started to rain quite hard. The temperature is very pleasant right now and it is not humid at all. There are puddles around in the streets. The little toads have gone back to where ever they have come from. It has been so dry that when it did start raining on Wednesday night, they came out in droves. As I was coming home from school Wednesday night, they were all crossing the roads. Quite a few got squished by passing cars and many were hitting my car as I drove down the road. It was hard trying to dodge them as they tried to cross the road. Interesting. |

It was a nice rainy day yesterday. Perfect fall day to be exact. The temperature right now is 57 degrees here. The sun is out, with blue skies and not a cloud in the sky. Everything is very wet though, it will take a while to dry out. I would have thought that my precipitation measurement would have been more, but even though it rained all day or for most of the day (afternoon to evening)before things cleared up, I thought we would have had near an inch or rain, but not so. |

At 2:45 this morning, I was sleeping pretty soundly when a huge bright light woke me up and then a huge clap of thunder, the storm had begun. It rained pretty good and thundered and lightening here and there. Not your average storm. Was over in about 20 minutes or so and then it just seemed to be lightly raining from then on. We had thunder a little bit ago, just once and then nothing more, but rain. |
