The two day total dropped 2.90 inches in a heavy mist like rain. Until these rains came, we still had several inches of snow in all of the shaded area of the county, hence the flood concern.

However, the same amount of snow melted from the cocorah gage produced 2.04" of water. Without the melt down, the tip-bucket's monthly amount is exactly 2" less than the cocorah's gage.

However, just for your info, this same storm brought 70mph winds and high surf to Little San Salvidor Island down in the Bahamas. We were on a cruise and our last port of call was canceled due to very rough seas. The passengers need to be tendered to the island as the cruise ship can not dock there. The 4" inches on the ground is what remains after six days and 24 hours of light rain.

The only two days our area temps got to 32 deg or above, we received a dusting of dry snow, each measuring .01 when I brought the gage in to melt. The core snow is what is remaining from the Dec 18th blizzard. Sorry, I was on a cruise and it was not measured at my location. The lady caring for our dogs, had to use a fire truck to get in to our home to feed the dogs until our POA finally plowed our road.
