A Significant Weather report was filed around 10:00 PM reporting a total rainfall of 1.55" as of 9:50 PM. An additional 1.38" fell between the report and the end of the storm. (approx 2 hrs). Temperatures stayed in the low 50's through the day and began to rise in the late afternoon as the more intense rainfall approached. Winds also increased noticably during this time. Temperatures reached close to 70 before beginning to fall after the passage of the storm. Not aware of any severe weather in the area.

Precipitation was collected with the funnel and inner tube removed so it should represent the total of everything that fell. The new snow measurement was made around 8:00 PM on a snowboard. It was a chunky accumulation of slushy snow and sleet that measured between 0.125" and 0.25". So far this storm has given us snow, sleet and rain. Only missing the freezing rain and that may come today. This is about the closest I can remember coming to a White Christmas in the Raleigh area.
