It is overcast and 35F at TOR. Yesterday around 10:00am the precip began...needless to say it caused all types of accidents because the road surfaces were much colder and made travel slippery and dangerous. A trip from the Short Hills Mall (normally 25 mins) lasted 55 minutes. Every overpass we saw and attempted to cross had numerous accidents and/or were closed because of icing. Hope all travelers came home without incident! |

While waiting for the total core to melt...snow is falling lightly and getting heavier, winds swirling it around at times, 28F. The new snow consists of a 2" base of ice followed by softer snow--great snowball/snowman/sledding snow! The gauge is frozen onto its base so didn't bother. Took pictures of the eaves of the house--the snow is so heavy and packed--it is actually overhanging the gutters by 5 to 6 inches--will brush that off when we get out to shovel and use the snow blower. This snow is heavy--watch yourselves!! |
