The amount of snow reported as new snow (4.1 inches) from my snow board I think is an untrue reading since the gauge had just a trace of new snow. Morning thunderstorms dumped another 1.02 inches in the gauge, rain that we didn't need at this time as we are still trying to finish bean planting. It was a strobe light of lightening off to the west starting at 4:00 a.m. CDT and continued until the storm reached us and dropped the bulk of rain recorded. At 8:20 a.m. we have a SE breeze with cloudy skies. They are forecasting more rain throughout the day. |

Yesterday morning/afternoon, 6/15, we had a few very light showers but then around approx. 6:20 the sky opened up and rained "white rain" for about 10 minutes two separate times until the storm cloud moved on leaving behind 1.3 inches in about a half hour. Who would have thought that after 3 months of too much rain - fighting to get our crops in the ground that now in July the rain has shut off and we could use a little moisture with the high temps we've had. Each storm had white, pounding rain that lasted around 15-18 minutes each with the last storm being accompanied by three close strikes of lightening.
