Unbelievable!! My son said it looks like the weather pattern is going to change this coming week. He's a meteorologist in Binghamton, NY and he is good!(We are so proud of him.)
Once again our drive had been re-stoned with some heavy rocks. Daily driving on it; packed it down and was like concrete. We have valleys now where the water has washed some of the stone away. I see a 70% chance today for more, I pray it's not anywhere around us....

When I arrived home last night from work at 6:50 PM. I looked at the gauge and at that time there was .32 inches of rain. It was raining then and when I entered the house the sky decided to open full blast. The remainder of rain 1.99 inches fell from that point on until sometime this morning. I hope to get back on track again.
I had to look around outside yesterday afternoon after the storm passed. The flash of lightening was one I have not seen before, simultaneously with the loud banging of thunder. I thought for sure something outside took a hit.

What a gorgeous day it was yesterday. The start to the day is cool, currently it is 58 degrees here.
Enjoy the week; it looks like it is going to get hot again.
Has any one noticed the height of the golden rod in their area? Back in Western NY in the snow belt a couple of farmers once told me the height of the golden rod determines the amount of snow you will see during the winter months. When I lived there it would get as tall or taller than me. I am 5'6". We always had plenty of the white stuff. Well here in Fleming County, The golden rod is as tall as I am and some plants are even taller. Ah I really didn't move to KY for the snow. |

The sweltering days are possibly going to behind us for awhile. We may not see many more high 90's, but I'm sure it's not over yet. Some rain is definitely needed, just not like what the Gulf is getting. A jog to the left for Texans, before turning Northeast would be better. |

A misty start to this day. For as much rain as we received the previous two days, 2.41 inches or so, our turn around up back wasn't a slushy, muddy mess. I was surprised by this last night. |

This rain must have fallen after I turned in for the night. Our lawn is so tall with the ragweed. I started to mow yesterday and sections of the property are still wet from last weeks rains. |

What a pretty day it was yesterday. Some clouds(nasty looking at times)came through a couple of times. They looked like snow clouds with the different colors of grays and blacks. I still can picture the clouds forming over Lake Erie (Buffalo end)during this time of the year. There is a distinct difference in the feel of the air; it feels like fall already. |

As I walked out to the collection container, I heard what I thought was rain coming. Instead it was the trees in the surrounding forest reacting to a burst of cooler air. |

Heavy fog in our valley this morning. When I went out to get yesterdays rain total it sounded like more rain was approaching. I'm unable to see the sky, if it's cloudy or clear so that made it difficult. Listening for a while, it was the heavy dew falling from the trees. |
