Ten to 20 mph east winds that gusted around 25 mph started around 1700 MDT and continued till around 2150 MDT. A thunderstorm with light rain showers began around 2020 MDT yesterday: This thunderstorm left 0.02 inches of rain in the gauge by 2100 MDT. A strong thunderstorm with moderate to heavy rain showers and vivid lightning started around 2120 MDT: Anvil rainout began around 2200 MDT when the rainfall total from both thunderstorms stood at 0.30 inches. Thunder began around 1615 MDT yesterday, with the last thunderclap heard around 1705 MDT. We also had hail yesterday afternoon. The largest hailstone measured 5/8 inches in diameter, with the average hailstones measuring 3/8 inches in diameter. The hail fell in four bursts: 1623 MDT-1627 MDT; 1648 MDT-1649 MDT; 1655 MDT-1656 MDT; 1700 MDT-1702 MDT. The trees whose leaves have changed to their fall colors lost about 5 percent of their leaves; trees with green leaves had minor shredding of their leaves.
