12/6/2010 5:00 PM M 4.5 M 6.0 M i couldnt take a reading until after work today so this is taken for the period between 8 AM 12/5 until 5:10 PM on 12/6...been snowing off and on all night. was a bad drive into work this morning THERE IS A TOTAL Of 6 INCHES on the GROUND 1.5 fell the day before on top of 4.5 from the time period i just stated totalling 6 inches at my reading post (edit: daily precip initially recorded as 4.50". transferred to snow column due to comments above. 12/7/2010 8:00 AM M 2.0 M 8.0 M the wind blew most of todays snow away we had some wet fluffy stuff that measured about 2 inches on top of the 6 we had from the past 2 days but what was on the car the sun came out and melted by the time i got out of work today...was icy this morning. snowed off and on through the night but it wasnt as bad as it had been and the salt truck were able to clear the streets by 6 am this morning..(Edit, original Precipitation amount was 2.00, most likely New Snow Depth. Changed to NA and entered 2.0 for New Snow.)

12/30/2010 8:00 AM T M M M M i dont know how much rain actually fell as i brought my raingauge in so that it wouldnt freeze and crack. i already have to replace the inside tube because it was cold the day i took it down the last time and i dropped it and it popped out..and cracked a chip off the top.. anyway it was only drizzling when i got up for work this morning at 6 AM. and it stopped by 930 AM. very icy on the roadways only. my car was only wet so i assumed the roads were only wet.. WRONG.. the main roads were salted enough but this one ramp down to E market street from brittain rd was super icy and my van slid down the entire lenght, thankfully there was noone waiting at the redlight at the bottom.. there was some slick spots all the way to work

12/13/2010 12/14/2010 4:25 PM 2 3.00 3.0 M I am having a hard time measuring snow from this system as it is blowing as it falls sideways..what is left on the ground after all has been said and done is a measureable 3 inches on a flat spot in my yard near the raingauge pole.. i dont have the time to melt the snow in the raingauge itself with my new job and making dinner getting kids ready for bed etc. i can only give a measurement with the snow board and yardstick.. i know we got more then 3 inches because both days the roads were bombarded with deep snow and i had a hard time getting to work...but with all the wind im sure it took alot of it away..

1/27/2011 1/31/2011 8:00 AM 5 8.00 M M a series of clippers came in and would dump anywhere from 1-3 inches of snow at a time. a day or two of just cold and clouds followed by another short lived clipper. its been a while since the ground has been seen. old snow cover mixed with ice layers and some new snow. most of the snow was light enough to be blown away as of 2/6/2011 there is still 7 inches on the ground
2/1/2011 2/06/2011 8:00 AM 6 M M M approximately 10 inches of mixed precipitation has fallen in the time period given. tuesday was mostly snow later in the day changing to sleet, freezing rain. we had about 4 inches out of the ice storm that came in weds morning but melted fairly early in the morning because temps rose to around 40 degrees. we have had a few snow showers here and there since then anywhere from 1-3 inches at any given time fell but was either blown away or melted. 2/5 had a mix of sleet, rain and snow.. heavy snow bursts would fall only to melt away the next hour on paved surfaces.. that lasted up until 6pm-ish. then the clouds broke in the sky and it was just windy and cold the rest of the night. (edit: 2/1-2/6 accumulation initially recorded as 10.00". changed to NA as this was a pre-melted snow total. P.G.)
2/7/2011 2/11/2011 6:00 AM 5 M M M 5 additional inches of snow fell this week over a 2 day period other then that its just been FRIGIDLY FREEZING! today it got to about 30 and felt a heatwave. yesterday morning was 3 degrees at 630 on the way to work the day before was 6 at 630. no snow in the past 72 hours (edit: multi-day accumulation initially recorded as 5.00". this looks like a new snow total over the time frame, and has been changed to NA. observer contacted. 2/21/2011 3/10/2011 6:30 PM 18 4.90 0.0 M about 2 inches of this is melted snow from the past snow storm. when i go to work and come home sometimes its too cold and the gauge freezes on the slider and i dont want to break that part off. i get home in the evening when the sun is down. i havent had the chance to measure every day due to overtime at work but now i can start doing it regularly again first my raingauge froze on the pole then i broke it again in (the inside piece) the same place but i epoxyed it so now its all good. i had to collect it in the large part of the raingauge and bring it in to measure it before that snow falls this evening ..now i have it down for the night. i'll measure the snow on my snow board and melt it inside tomorrow when i get home from work..
