Rain measured late due to heavy thunder and lightning at normal time. Multiple power outages were also a factor. 79 degrees F. for the high yesterday, overnight low 58. National Weather Service has tornado watches in mountain-hugging counties. Torrential rain already reported in parts of the area with passage of this first storm between 4 and 8 am., and more such thunderstorms are expected today and tomorrow, too. It's looking like October may not turn out to be the driest month this year (as it usually is) after all. |

71 degrees at observation! More rain tonite. MAJOR PROBLEM getting data displayed yesterday--must have had a majority of your servers down for quite a while. Hope that it wasn't too serious and won't be continuing. P.S. today's rainfall is for 23 hours measured from yesterday's reading at 8 am when the thunderstorms (and heavier rains) finally left. We did get another shower around mid to late afternoon. |

high yesterday 83 degrees, overnight low 55; even more rain fell if a less consistent type gauge is believed. CoCoRaHs folks seem to be reporting more rain than TV. Some very strong gusts of wind evident here yesterday. Would probably have had more flooding to report here, except that it had been so dry for so long this year. |

high Wednesday 50, overnight low 28, 7 am temp 30; I hope it's as nice outside today as it was yesterday, but forecast only calls for a high of 42. Longer range, it's looking more & more like a White Christmas here; the odds are up to 50% for snow on Friday night and Saturday and maybe continuing even longer. They say the storm will hit as far south as Atlanta and turn into a blizzard for the northeastern seaboard. |

during the daytime yesterday we never had more than half an inch of snow accumulate at a time due to melting that took place along with the snowfall and possibly some mix of rain. Today's measurement is necessarily done on top of the frozen layer left from yesterday's lesser amount, so the total snowfall since Saturday morning would be an inch or two more than the new snowfall that is being report4ed now. That may go to explain the water equivalent that fell in the gauge |

high Thursday 46, overnight low/7am temp 25; light snow ended by bedtime, mostly gone now. Looks like East Tenn geography trapped enough warm, dry air in Valley to stop the snowfall accumulation that "everyone" had predicted. P.S. if anybody at COCORAHS is listening, different people seem to be putting the various snow measurements in different places; maybe it's time for a refresher on what numbers go where? This is not new, but rather a recurring observation. For example, sometimes it's obvious that the raw snow depth is being put where the melted amount should be. Another one is confusing new snowfall and total snow. Data accuracy may be affected by these types of error. |

Another way of saying it is that I can't remember when any of the others have gone out on a limb like he did this past week, and I appreciate his sticking his neck out for what he sees. |

overnight low/7am temp 28, frost on roofs; breaking news - fearless forecaster Chief Meteorologist Aldrich is at it again, predicting from his Volunteer TV perch that we will tie or break the record of 75 on Monday, maybe 78! And that's not one of those recent Global Warming highs, either, but from 130 years ago (1880). Do you think they had Global Warming back then, too? |

high Monday 68, overnight low/7am temp 37; heavy rain, mostly in early p.m. (1.8" by mid-afternoon) on top of prior rain this week led to fast run-off which caused high water in ditches to cover roads in many places - example nearest here was blockage of Houser Road in a sharp curve just north of Riverbend subdivision. It was just possible for one car at a time to crawl around the outside of that curve (which is a little bit higher than the inside, so the water was somewhat shallower.) and hope that nothing is coming from the opposite direction, especially when heading South. As this is the main road in and out of the Peninsula, a lot a people use this road. The other way in and out probably had even more water problems due to steeper terrain, at least for the roadway itself, that is. I was out during the worst part of it and experienced pea-sized hail in Powell at approximately one o'clock. |

high Thursday 72, overnight low/7am temp 46; rainfall amounts predicted for this weekend may be enough to trigger more flash flooding in some of the same area locations as occurred in this past Monday's deluge. Even if doesn't come down quite as fast and furious as it did then, the ground is even more saturated now. Residents of low-lying or flood-prone spots would be well-advised to keep a NOAA weather radio turned on, since in addition to tornadoes and the like, they also send out flood warnings based on their precip data. |

I noticed that no other report here showed as much rain, so it (or they if there was perhaps more than one "training" over us) must not have covered a particularly large area, but it surely did hit us good here. high Tuesday 79, overnight low 67, 7am temp 70; no storm just rain this time, thank goodness. High wind advisory out all day today, with storms likely this afternoon and tonight. Houser Road blocked all day yesterday by power lines and multiple trees down in the road just South of Shea Fields entrance. House on west side of us had a big tree limb come down after the Monday storm ended in sort of a delayed reaction. |

HEAVY LARGE HAIL AT 8 P.M., A LITERAL CARPET OF MOSTLY GRAPE OR NICKLE SIZE BUT RANGING ON UP TO GOLF BALL OR SILVER DOLLAR SIZE NEAR THE END OF THE SEVERAL MINUTES' LONG BARRAGE. LOTS OF TWIGS AND LEAVES IN THE YARD AND MINOR DAMAGE TO VARIOUS ITEMS; BIG QUESTION IS REGARDING ROOF DAMAGE FROM THE MONSTER SIZED HAIL. High Wednesday 80, overnight low/7am temp 56. News has reports of large number of tornadoes yesterday which include loss of at least one life in Tennessee. We had tornado warnings here and radar reports as close as Seymour and Greenback but heard no local sighting. Note: rain total includes some melted hail but I don't know how much due to power outage here for most of the night that started right after the severe hailstorm. P.S. storms continued off and on until after 1 A.M. |

high Thursday 68, overnight low/7am temp 50; cleaning up yard after storms, found an 8x10 Olan Mills portrait of an infant maybe a year old, intact except for a couple of small rips. Also a piece of house insulation liner and part of sheetrock painted facing. All this picked up by one or more of the storms from one of the many scenes of destruction Wednesday and carried here by the winds aloft just like the hail. TV news says many people are finding such things, some of it identifiable as belonging to someone as far away as Georgia and even Alabama, and a web page has been set up in Facebook for pictures and documents, at least. |

high Friday 77, overnight low/7am temp 47; forecast is for 80 and dry today with chance of rain creeping back into the picture tomorrow and especially on Monday. The ground is so wet here that I'm almost afraid to walk on it, let alone mow it with our lawn tractor. However, I had to walk on it in order to pick and/or rake up the myriad of sticks that fell from various trees, especially the Sawtooth oak, so that it can be mowed before all this moisture turns it into a jungle. My CoCoRaHs records show 10.79 inches for this month and an incredible 26.13 inches so far for the year! |

high Saturday 80, overnight low/7am temp 58; storm that spawned now-confirmed South Knoxville tornado Wednesday must have come very close to here on its way to making a "touchdown" there. Looks like we got lucky on that one. Oh, for what it's worth, there are a lot of downed trees in our area on private property, some hidden from the street, that are waiting for the commercial tree experts, who apparently are severely backlogged from all the recent storms we have had. |

Speaking of storms, just when I thought we had heard the last of the Alabama tornadoes bad news, they now say some 500 people are missing in addition to the confirmed death total of some 230. It made the surprise announcement that what had hit South Knoxville was a tornado insignificant by comparison. |

high Saturday 73, overnight low/7am temp 59; according to radar, we should have gotten at least a trace of rain while it was dark, but if we did, I couldn't see any sign. If we had to take the first damage estimate (from a roofing contractor who stayed on the ground) we'd be stuck with a hail-damaged roof, but fortunately we got a second estimate from an insurance company adjuster who actually climbed up to get a better look and found a lot of seriously penetrated shingles, so he marked it & took pictures & wrote it up as a claim. Just goes to show that you can't assume who's going to get it right. |

Chances of a severe T-storm here last night were greatly exaggerated even though they did get some in the far northeastern "corner" of Tennessee not only last night but also again this morning, with resulting local flooding in some cases due to heavy downpours. I understand that there were also some hail & straight line high winds that caused problems with downed trees. |

high Friday 84, overnight low/7am temp 62/63; while some distant thunder was heard here with the rain, those who were out shopping at Kroger in Bearden saw close lightning approaching and heard more and louder thunder for a longer period of time as the T-storm seemed almost to be passing directly overhead there. While I did not have a portable gauge with me to put into service (!), it also seemed like more rain there. This suspicion is supported by the amount of rain that was trapped in sagging parts of the tent-like canopies protecting the vendors who were at the Farmers Market. |

Looks like I'll have to cross my fingers and hope the 30% chance of afternoon T-storms will bring moisture. The ground is cracked and dusty except where we have watered the garden to keep the young plants growing. High here Tuesday 94 (96 at airport), new record(s?) for that date, as old one was 93 set in 1918; overnight low and 7am temp 72, as high dewpoint prevents cooler nights. Trace observed on Kingston Pike near Sequoyah Hills while going to Farmer's Market in middle of afternoon - don't actually know if we had a trace at home location, but figured it ought to be reported anyway just in case no one else did. Oh, The Weather Channel says 97 this afternoon and the heat index is expected to reach 105 or more, so it's best to stay out of it or else drink plenty of water. Speaking of water, May rainfall here was only 1.80" and all of it came it doses of less than one inch. |

high Saturday 93, overnight low/7am temp 68; forecast calling for a "near-record" 94 today (record is 96). Humidity registered only 31% late afternoon (temp was still near 90), which seems extremely dry for what we're used to seeing this time of year (but so does the soil). Now they are saying a 30% chance for some significant T-storms activity in E. Tenn. today. Since there is also a chance that one or more could be severe, I hate to say so, but we need the rain, so bring it on. Small chances of rain again end of week. They also say this dry hot weather will continue for another week or ten days due to the chronic high pressure pattern. |

We got a sprinkle of rain here, but I'm afraid it wasn't enough for the drops to even touch each other, let alone soak into the ground where they could reduce the dryness. So how come we have a heavy dew and some light fog (visibility at least 0.5 mile) this morning? It had me stumped for a while. There was heavy rain South and West of us about a few dozen miles, but how does that help? I didn't know, but apparently we received some much moister air than we've had recently, as the relative humidity today is up to 84%. High Sunday 95 (airport tied record of 96), low overnight/7am temp 68. Looking for a muggy near-record 93 today, so everybody stay cool and hydrated and please consider praying for rain. We have now had 8 days in a row of highs over 90 F. at this location, and only a trace of precip during that time period. The 7-day forecast on TV does not promise any relief just continued 90+ highs and small chances of maybe some isolated showers somewhere in the viewing area. We need a break. |

Same for high today: 93, 94 or 95 with pretty much the same tomorrow. A cool front is supposed to arrive for the weekend and may actually keep the high in the 80's for a couple of days, breaking the streak of 90+ days at 13 if they're right. Of course, there is one channel that says the streak should reach 19. From the data one of the stations' research showed, the most unusual thing about this streak is not its length, but that it came so early, all in the Spring. Maybe there's something to Global Warming after all? |

The high today is now predicted to be 91, which will make 15 in a row over 90 if it does, an amazing run when you consider it is not Summer til 9 more days. One TV station's weekend weather reader (not a meteorologist, I hope) got the number of consecutive days wrong again, this time in the other direction. But when will this "dry" spell be broken by more than a drop in a bucket or yet another temporary dust-settler? Over the past 5 weeks, we have had less than one inch of rain, and only once was it even close to half an inch. They say shallow watering is bad for plants, but that's what Nature has been giving to us - topped off with a very unusual pre-summer heat wave. high Thursday 84, overnight low/7am temp 64; TWC blew it yesterday with their 90F prediction so maybe forecasting weather here from their facilities in Atlanta is not as easy as it looks? Local TV stations are saying the 90's will be back next week, perhaps as soon as Father's Day, with some rain chance 'til then. |

Main road into/out of here still blocked by trees & wires. At least we got much-needed rain for yard & garden. Thankful for that and not getting 12" like reports say they did in Claiborne Co.(Harrogate and LMU). Note: I forgot to say that the rain in this report arrived in several different showers, mostly during the day which had approx. 0.4" of the total, the rest came at night. |

high Thursday 82, overnight low/7am temp 66/70; lots of t-storm activity last night and a possible tornado north of town. Before all that, the number of KUB customers without power was down to 17,000, but now it is back up to about 30,000 this morning. Ours came on mid-afternoon yesterday when main road finally cleared. In addition to the usual wind damage, heavy rains last night caused flash floods in some areas, and some roads are more like canals in Venice, Italy. |

high Friday 85, overnight low/7am temp 66; there are still some businesses closed due to no power and some traffic lights still out at busy intersections in Bearden & West Hills areas as of yesterday afternoon, and drivers are mostly courteous and following proper procedures. It could be better, though, since some of them either don't know or are disregarding the rules of the road for non-operating and/or flashing lights. Little chance of rain today, but greater for tomorrow. Next week's highs are predicted to be a string of 90+'s. This is only the first week of Summer, but it seems like we've already had the full season's worth of major weather events, most of them actually in a very active Spring. |

high Sunday 93, overnight low/7am temp 72; happy Fourth of July! 50% chance of rain today, which we still need even though we had to go ahead and water the garden due to major signs from the plants that it was do or die. Ornamental plants at the front of the house are now showing signs of stress, so either we get some rain today or we're going to have to water the ones that are apparently not drought-resistant. TWC: 90 today. |

high Monday 91, overnight low/7am temp 70 (but went down to 69 during the T-storms between 2 and 3 pm); thankful for the much-needed rain. We keep a close eye out for problems in the garden, but not so close on bushes, etc., so this rain came at a very good time. Forecasts are calling for good chance of more rain today, possibly extending into tomorrow as well. A little bit of fog in the air this morning but it's not reducing ground-level visibility that I can see. NOTE: after checking Maps, I see we got a lot more rain here than anyone else around has reported. All I can say is that we were right under T-storms (had to be more than one) for about an hour or so with heavy precip for most of that time without any real let-up. On a possibly related item, our power was out for a couple of hours starting just before the rain hit us. Also, in case there is any doubt, my main gauge reading was confirmed by two (2) other backup gauges located a distance apart, so this was not just a freak occurrence affecting only one of them, but a real event that included all three (3) measuring locations. |

With all the rain we got here yesterday, we don't need to have any more, but it's OK if we get it. You just never know when we might get another long hot dry "spell," so it's good to have well-hydrated soil. |

Also, some meteorologists said squall line would miss us to NE, but they missed it. Speaking of missing, some of the rain may have blown right across my gauge without measuring, as very strong winds blew into generally south side of house. high Tuesday 83, overnight low/7am temp 71; I thought we might have measurable precip this morning, but either it evaporated despite the high humidity or else my guess of the amount from a light mid-morning shower was too much. I'm not complaining, though, since the nearly half an inch we got before 7am yesterday was very welcome, and along with plenty of help from the clouds also gave us at least a one-day break, for which we are grateful, from the oppressive heat. We hardly saw any sunshine to speak of until very late in the afternoon, when it was too late to make a run at the predicted 90+ F. |

Gutters filled up fast in both events and overflowed for at least a little while; we also had a lot of puddling on the ground, so both were good "soakers" and then some. high Wednesday 93, overnight low/7 am temp 76; heavy dew this morning & TV says dew point is 74, so the relative humidity must be up near 100% (I don't have a RH gauge). Predicted 95 high, but area pm t-storms could cut that. Heat index forecast is for 105 to 110, so drink plenty (lots) of water if you must be outside. You can sweat off several pounds/pints of water in just a couple or so hours out in this heat, and the loss of that much vital moisture can start to affect some essential organs, such as the kidneys and even the brain, making heat stroke become more likely. |

high Friday 92, overnight low/7am temp 75; I don't know the actual Heat Index at the time, but it "felt like" the proverbial 110 degrees in the shade while I was working outside in the yard yesterday afternoon, except for an occasional breeze. Of course the Relative Humidity had to be way on up there, but I can't say for sure how high it was without an RH gauge. We're pretty close to the lake/river, so our humidity is likely somewhat more than the airport's reading. Today should be more or less the same as yesterday, other than a slightly increased chance of some precip later on. The best chance for rain soon will be Sunday/Monday. NOTE: Here's a good Question of the Day, Why/How is it that it has been so much hotter up North than here? That seems like the weather is turned upside down! |

Not a big difference, but we'll take it! Cloudy now makes it seem more likely to rain as per the 60% chance forecast, just hope it doesn't fall apart like it often does. Even though it's Saturday, the rain will be welcome. Soil has cracked open down the middle of our garden already, so we clearly need a good soaking precip. For what it's worth, TV8 weekend weather person (?) is predicting we'll get 1.5 to 2 inches by Monday. I certainly hope that she's right. |

HAD TO SET CAPS LOCK ON TO TYPE IN RAIN AMOUNT FIELD - WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? high Saturday 86, overnight low/7am temp 72; just enough rain to maybe wet the dust down a little. Hopefully we'll get more today and/or tomorrow, because we sure could use a soaker. TV keeps saying chances are 40, 50 or 60 percent, but unfortunately there is not any guarantee to go with that. For what it's worth, West Town Mall area got pretty much the same amount, but I had no gauge to measure it there. |

high Sunday 91, overnight low/7am temp 75; mid-afternoon dark clouds came and went without leaving us any precip, but they looked heavy enough that maybe some other folks nearby got at least a little bit of moisture out of them. TWC is calling for "near record" temp of 97 today and heat index around 110, then 80's the rest of the week. Some isolated showers are possible today, but the best chance of rain will be scattered t-storms tomorrow and Saturday. |

high Monday 91, overnight low/7am temp 73; also reached 74 at end of mid-afternoon storm which kept thermometer from going higher than 91. This t-storm was strong with rain falling at the rate of 3" per hour for 15 minutes. Lots of thunder and lightning plus some wind but no known damage at this location. It was a welcome "soaker" bringing needed moisture, since there was little runoff besides roof & pavement. In other words, we are grateful we got what we did. |

high Tuesday 86, overnight low/7am temp 69; looks like the trend is for cooler and more normal days and nights for a while, at least, including a reinforcing influx of less humid air, to boot. A string of lows in the 60's is expected for the first time since early July and, of course, late June. We may see 90 one or two times this week, but next week it will struggle to reach the mid-80's. Best chance of precip will be over the weekend, natch, but I won't complain at all. |

high Wednesday 90, overnight low/7am temp 72; another short-lived cool-down from this year's recurring heat waves. There's supposed to be a little respite from the high temperatures starting this weekend, then -- yes, you guessed it, up into the 90's again later on in the week. OK, it's not as bad as the record 99 we had just one week ago, but it's still back into the "frying pan." There is also just a small chance of rain this afternoon but greater odds for the weekend. |

We are supposed to get some rain late tomorrow afternoon or evening, and on into Sunday - maybe an inch according to at least one local TV chief meteorologist. Still expecting more of a break in the temperatures for most of next week, with highs in the mid-80's instead of hovering around 90 like it is now. |

high Friday 90, overnight low/7am temp 68; decent chance of precip from this evening through Sunday, and a cool front arriving with the rain will bring lower temperatures all week, with 80's days and 60's nights. One local TV station said moisture totals for this weekend may reach up to 1" in parts of the metro area. Other than the rain, humidity levels are going to stay down, with the heat index calculations much closer to real thermometer readings. |

high Saturday 90, overnight low/7am temp 69; judging by radar, we probably got most (if not all) of our precip before midnight. Glad we got enough to hold us a while, as it looks like the "wrap-around" is just about depleted a long time before it might have had any chance of bringing us some more moisture. Looking at the Maps, it looks like we were fortunate to get as much as we did, for which we are very thankful. And I didn't even have to water the garden to get it to rain this time! Schools here are open starting tomorrow, so please watch out for kids. |

high Monday 82, overnight low/7am temp 63; heavy dew to go with cool start, but supposed to warm up quickly this morning and sunny skies all day. Saturday expected to be warmest day of the week at 94, plus best chance of rain. TV says police in all school zones through next week, and that they issued more than 125 tickets yesterday, the first day of classes. My interpretation of that would be if the signs say 15 miles per hour then don't go any faster, even if you have to gear down and/or use the brakes to do it in some cars and it seems like crawling. |

high Wednesday 90, overnight low/7am temp 68; predicted highs for the next week are above normal: low 90's (or even mid-90's on the weekend), and humidity is heading higher again, so the heat index will also be creeping up. Chances of precip look best on Friday night into Saturday a.m., but scattered showers now in Kentucky might make it this far today (20% or so odds). The 1.92" we've had so far this month came at very good times, but we'll soon be needing some more. Forecast lows in upper 60's and lower 70's for the coming week, near normal. |

Temperatures will stay about the same, while the best rain chance is now Sunday after noon, but the odds for it are still only about 40%, and even then it is not expected to be a big event. |

Highs should be in upper 80's for the next few days, but the heat index should also be about the same, since the dewpoint is forecast to be down in the 50's. Good time to work outside. |

And looks like it will continue to do so until close to next weekend, and even then it may take the remnants of Hurricane Irene to bring us meaningful precip - which we will definitely be needing by then. Highs mostly in low 90's with a few upper 80's this week, but thanks to lower humidity it will seem milder than recent weeks, even fall-ish in early mornings. |

high Tuesday 89, overnight low/7am temp 63; we're in for a slight chance of rain and slightly lower temperatures after a weak "cold" front comes through by tomorrow, but then we return to the same old, same old. The paucity of precip is now bordering on serious and it's too bad that Hurricane Irene won't be sending any our way after all. Speaking of sending things our way, that earthquake yesterday was quite a wake-up for the East Coast, especially in its coverage and strength. But the biggest shocker in the news was Pat Summitt's dementia diagnosis. We were very sorry to hear that, but know she'll fight it as long as she can. |

high Friday 94, overnight low/7am temp 70; forecast says highs "only" in the upper 80's for the next week or so, apparently due to a change in the winds affected by Hurricane Irene, even though it won't be bringing any rain to us here. Highs in the mid-80's today, slowly climbing to 90 by mid-week, lows mostly in the 60's. Hurricane Irene missed us, but it is dropping torrential downpours with 75 mph winds on NYC metro area now. More than a foot of rain fell in parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and it has killed 8 people so far. If the eye makes landfall in NY as still a Category 1, it will apparently be the first such in over a hundred years, since 1893! We sure could have used some of that rain. |

high Monday 69, which actually was in the early morning, while the overnight low and also the 7am temp was/is 61; the precip shown above is only for 22.5 hours, since the gauge was not read until 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning. I apologize for that, but note that the above amount would have been even higher if it was for a full 24 hours. As it is, this is probably some sort of record for the date if not the month, but that will have to wait on NOAA who keeps records only on a calendar day basis, midnight to midnight, or so I have been told. For the event total, so far at least, I've recorded 7.31 inches of rain since the remains of T.S. Lee first reached here Sunday afternoon. Fortunately, the rain here has been mostly of the steady, moderate variety, allowing most of it to be absorbed instead of causing runoff problems. Of course, it probably has helped that the ground was very dry and thus able to soak up a lot of water. We are thankful, of course. |

high Wednesday 66, overnight low/7am temp 59; very slow, misty rain again this morning. TV meteorologist say this is still due to remnants of ex-T. S. Lee hanging around. Considering the dry spell we went through, it's not that I mind the rain, it's just that the rains we got earlier have now made the grass grow, especially the weeds, and it's just not safe to try to mow this hilly yard when it is wet. I already have the mower up to the highest setting to prevent killing the dry grass, so I can't set it any higher. Maybe it will dry out by tomorrow so I won't have to worry about how I can be sure to get it all done before UT's football game against Cincinnati kicks off Saturday at 3:30 pm; it apparently will have a national audience on ESPN-2. high Wednesday 82, overnight low/7am temp 67; they got a pretty good, but not particularly long, rain just over the ridge in the West Hills-Cedar Bluff area (at least) with water pooling at the edge of roads, but we stayed high and very dry here, I am sorry to say. This morning there is some treetop fog here, but it doesn't seem to reach the ground, not yet anyway at O.T. |

high Thursday 79, overnight low/7am temp 66; no, it was not rounded off: the rain gauge said exactly one-tenth. Good chance of more rain for the start of the weekend. Also for the start of fall, since it is the first day. |

high Friday 74, overnight low/7am temp 59; nice moderate shower mid to late morning was good rain while it lasted, but it's better to have gotten it than not since grass seed was just put out on Wednesday and needs to stay moist. High pressure is taking control of the weather here for now since the cold front has passed, bringing in definitely fall-like temperatures. |

high Tuesday 75, overnight low/7am temp 56; small chance of shower later today, and again on Friday. No significant rain probabilities in the weekly outlook, despite another cold front due to arrive this Friday. Weekend will feature our first fall lows in the 40's, say the forecasters. |

high Wednesday 79 (same as airport), overnight low/7am temp 62; today's forecast is a carbon copy of yesterday, including the Scrooge-like 15% "coverage" of any precip. Cold front tomorrow will drop highs to 60s & lows to 40s for Saturday and Sunday, at least. Hope the sudden change to fall temperatures is not bad news for the Vols, since the visiting Buffalo Bulls are more used to them. |

high Thursday 80, overnight low/7am temp 63; a little light rain is predicted with the cold front due today, but the Appalachian mountains ski resorts are expecting some real SNOW, especially the ones north of Tennessee. |
