Since June 1st to July 15th, have received 0.63" rainfall (my 14-yr average would be 1.30"), so drier than normal, but this is common this time of year. Spring 2011 was cool and wet, and so far this summer, conditions have been cooler than normal. So far this year, we have had only 10 days that reached into the 70s, with our warmest temp so far being 74 degrees. Nights are in the 40s and low 50s. Most days have been in the 60s. We empathize with those elsewhere who are experiencing intense summer heat, but we sure could use a bit more summer warmth here.

Rainfall June 1st through August 31st: 1.31" (average would be 2.78"). At my location on Lopez Island, we have not reached 80 degrees yet this year. We have had only 33 days with temps reaching into the 70s. Highest temp so far has been 78F. For June through August 2011, 2/3rds of nighttime lows dipped into the 40s, while only 1/3 of the nights were in the 50s. Cool, dry summer. Not a good tomato year. Looking forward to a pleasant September.
