There was perhaps an hour of sprinkly rain yesterday morning between 9 and 11am. It appeared as though that was going to be all the rain for the day. Last night between 10 and 10:30pm it started thundering and flash lightning some. After 10:30p the rain began. It was extremely heavy at times. The thunder was also extremely loud at times. Surprising how much strength there was in that storm considering how the clouds dominated the day. July ended up with 5.96", the wettest since 2008. Also had 12 days with highs of 95 or warmer which ties July 2000 for the most in the last 16 years. The highest temp for the month was 105 on the first. This is also the first time I've had a high of 100 or warmer in July in 16 years. Very interesting month of weather!
