7/13/2012 8:20 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Temp = 75.4°; Hum = 55%; Baro = 30.00" steady; Dew Pt. = 58.1°; The gauge is bone dry with only a 20% chance of rain tonight and 30% tomorrow. Hopefully, that 20-30% will be in our area. If not, crops will be damaged further.
7/14/2012 7:50 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Temp = 72.5°; Hum = 69%; Baro = 29.97" steady; Dew Pt. = 61.8°; It is warm and beginning to feel sticky this morning with sunny skies. The rain that hit Chicago yesterday never made it down to NW Indiana. We need it.
7/15/2012 7:35 AM 0.44 M M M M Temp = 70.5°; Hum = 98%; Baro = 29.94" steady; Dew Pt. = 69.9°; It is sunny and hazy this morning with little breezy. Heavy dew has formed on everything. It feels like the air is heavy and hanging on you. The rain from late yesterday afternoon was welcome and significant, but it was not a drought breaker. The next chance of rain is only a couple days away, however.
7/16/2012 6:50 AM 0.23 M M M M Temp = 71.6°; Hum = 91%; Baro = 29.91" steady; Dew Pt. = 68.8°; It is very humid to begin today. We had almost a quarter of an inch of rain yesterday afternoon which helped combine with the almost half inch on Saturday. It feels like we could pop another shower today, but it is not forecast.
7/17/2012 8:25 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Temp = 80.8°; Hum = 72%; Baro = 29.80" steady; Dew Pt. = 70.9°; The day starts with abundant sunshine and a high dew point, and will only get worse as temperatures are expected to rise to 100°. We can only hope for some rain this evening (30%). We are experiencing one of the hottest and driest summers.
7/18/2012 7:55 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Temp = 78.3°; Hum = 73%; Baro = 29.80" steady; Dew Pt. = 68.9°; Sunny, warm, close; The dew point is beginning to climb.
7/19/2012 7:55 AM 2.31 M M M M Temp = 70.0°; Hum = 98%; Baro = 29.77" steady; Dew Pt. = 69.4°; After a day that produced a couple of showers for a total of 0.38" of rain, we really got the goods last night. The first strong storm hit about 10:45 pm. I woke up about 2 pm to more thundershowers and heavy rain. At 7:55 am, we had a total of 2.31" in the gauge and we are still getting some lingering showers. This was a real drought buster!
7/20/2012 8:20 AM 0.02 M M M M Temp = 69.1°; Hum = 98%; Baro = 29.91" steady; Dew Pt. = 68.5°; It is a cloudy morning. The humidity is high but there is little dew on the ground and none on the gauge. The precipitation is left over from the overnight storms from the night before. It fell after I measured precipitation yesterday morning. It is much cooler.

7/23/2012 8:35 AM 0.03 M M M M Temp = 78.3°; Hum = 56%; Baro = 29.88" steady; Dew Pt. = 61.3°; It is mostly cloudy with broken cumulus or stratocumulus clouds blocking most of the sun. Yesterday afternoon, there were three (count 'em), three drops of rain on the windshield of my car as I pulled into my drive. The rest of the 0.03" must have come overnight.
7/24/2012 7:25 AM 0.02 M M M M Temp = 71.4°; Hum = 95%; Baro = 29.85" steady; Dew Pt. = 69.9°; This reading was taken just as a line of thunderstorms hit our area. The wind was gusting severely but little rain had fallen. Since I came in, the heavens let loose. I do not know that total yet. Radar shows only a thin band of heavy showers but a big blob of green to follow. Another wave will probably hit from the NW later in the day.
7/25/2012 6:50 AM 0.22 M M M M Temp = 70.3°; Hum = 89%; Baro = 29.77" steady; Dew Pt. = 66.9°; The sun is shining from the east and the thunder is rumbling from the west. 8/1/2012 8:15 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Temp = 69.1°; Hum = 82%; Baro = 29.85" steady; Dew Pt. = 63.4 ; We have a cloudless sky this morning with heavy dew. It is pleasantly cool but damp outside. Moisture in the gauge is assumed to be from the heavy dew. Temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure continue to be taken by my Oregon Scientific Weather Station 5 set for 820' of altitude. Dew point is calculated at 'http://www.decatur.de' on their dew point calculator.

8/5/2012 8:20 AM 1.49 M M M M Temp = 70.0°; Hum = 98%; Baro = 29.91" rising; Dew Pt. = 69.4°; Everything is wet from the overnight rain, but the bulk of the rain (1.34" out of 1.49") fell in a 30 time period from 4:45 pm to 5:15 pm yesterday afternoon. The strong wind made the rain fall sideways, and because the storm came from the west with so much wind, the gauge may not have caught all that fell. It is sunny now and forecast to be cooler and drier.
8/6/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M We were gone Aug 6-8, but there was no precipitation in the gauge when I checked it on the afternoon of Aug 8. Therefore, no rain fell while we were gone.
