What a night! Power off in Calhoun Co.,Eaton Co.,and parts of Kalamazoo and Barry Counties. We received .5 inches of wet stuff, and 3 inches of the white stuff. Made for treacherous driving for many, including my wife who met a friendly wrecker driver after sliding off one of our slippery roads last evening.We woke up to a blazing sunrise, very pretty and warming. Received less than 4 inches of snow at our station, west of us had over a foot of lake-effect snow, ski resorts were happy! Brrrrrrrr, it is cold out! Too cold for moisture bearing snow, Lake effect snow in abundance to SW MI counties! We received 3 inches of LE snow east of US 131, almost a foot west of US 131. Temp was 5 degrees this am, at 6:00, got up to 18 degrees, too cold to snow. Light winds kept the chill factor close to ambient temps, and cloud cover kept it warmer than forecast. Melted snow amount measured .25 of an inch. |

Woke up this am with 2 inches of snow on the snow board, and .35 inches of water in the gauge. Snow picked up in intensity around 8:00am and lasted til 13:00 hrs. Total amount of snow by 14:00 hrs was almost 5 inches total, with an added amount of .15 inches of liquid. Warmer air is coming back late this evening, and supposed to clear up during the week with temps in the mid 40's. Does not sound like winter in MI. |

Last evening at this time we were under a tornado warning that never materialized, and deluge of rain showers, along with high winds and minor flooding. Part of our neighbors area to the east are cleaning up after a "Pop-Up!" tornado ravaged their area. Dexter MI got hit by a F-2 tornado at 4:30 pm yesterday. No one was injured or killed by this storm, thank the great Lord! We received .65 inches of rain from the storm that basically passed by to our south. No wind damage here, no flooding. We did alright. |

Had an early morning thunderstorm slide through SW MI this am, did a lot of storm damage in Allegan County, and parts of Kalamazoo and Van Buren. We received .2 tenths of an inch of rain, lots of wind, and humidity increase. Currently it is 68 degrees and warming, not enoug rain to put us over an inch for July, we really need more.
