First real rain since June arrived late afternoon. Finally. Came with a lot of lightening so we're watching for "smokes" the next week. High around 90. Low in the 50's. |

T-storm came thru around 1:30 am with a couple of fierce thunder bumpers and some decent rain with 1/16th"; the best since June. High yesterday 73. Low 47. |

Large t-storm arrived around 7 pm. Counted 20+ lightening with most being sheet. Thunder constant for 1 hour. Moderate rain fell but not enough to quell anxiety over lightening strike fires that are already being reported east of here. Prior to the storms the skies were very smokey brown/gold. Made for irritable throats, eyes and temperments. High yesterday 94. |

Temp at 6 am 55*. Temp at 8 am 50*. Light to moderate rain started at around 7 am. Chilled wet air feels really good currently. As long as it only lasts a day or too. It is still August after all. Yesterday very windy and 88*. |

Rain in the morning for an addtl .04" then cloudy and cold [for august] with temps at 52*. Cleared in early evening with temps reaching 62* by 6 pm. Low this morning 31*. Good thing I covered the garden. |

Storms started up around 3 pm with good rains that left .07 in the first pass and then .18 in the second. Plenty of cloud-cloud lightening with some strikes. Hoping the rains will keep fires down but with 40 mph winds forecasted tomorrow that is doubtful. Due to rains morning fog was patchy and thick. |
