wind driven dry snow flurries this am. There is snow stuck in crevices on shingles on our roof and a very light coating on our neighbors's tin roof. Snow is blowing by sideways. Did not take a core sample as there is no flat area with enough snow to obtain one that the wind hasn't swept clean and no snow in gauge. Overnight low of 14.1. Current temp 14.9. Current average windspeed from last 128 seconds is 11.1 with gust of 20.3 measured at 6 feet above ground. Highest gust during the night was 27 mph with highest sustained winds at 15.6. Even though it was snowing I could still see the moon and stars during the night. |

Very challenging! It snowed steadily during night but very little is on the ground. Snow is still going by sideways. At 9:45 pm heard sleet hitting windows, lasting for about 15-20 minutes before changing over to snow. Sleet was pure white, as if covered by snow. Temp was 38 at beginning of sleet but dropped to below freezing within an hour. At 10:45 pm, when the initial snow stopped I had .04" of melted precip in gauge. Core sample produced .05" of melted precip. It started snowing again around midnight and has continued to snow since then. This am just a trace of snow in gauge. Cannot obtain a core sample as any area I can find that hasn't been swept clean is frozen solid. Temp is currently 19 degrees with winds gusting in the 25 to 30 mph range. |

Sunny, clear skies this am. Current temp 23.9 Started out with w/rain w/changeover to snow around 9 am w/temp at 35.2. Snowed on and off until about 2:00 pm with 0.3 accumulating and melting a couple of times, with a short periods of rain and sleet late in the morning. It began snowing again at approx. 2:30 pm with heavy snow/large flakes for about 30 minutes. As the ground was slushy w/ice freezing on the tips of tree branches, the ground was quickly covered. By 8:00 pm winds were blowing enough to cause mild drifting. Temp dropped below freezing between 5 & 6 pm down to 29.1 at 6:30 pm. Measured snow depth on board and 10 additional places this am; ranges from 3 inches in windblown areas to 5 inch drifts. Majority of places measured 4.3 so I used that as my total depth amount. |

About 40% of the ground in our yard is still covered with patchy snow. Currently 48º, breezy and overcast w/dark clouds off to the south and east. Had hail yesterday about 2:30 pm measuring from pea sized to fifty cent sized. It pretty well covered the ground and road. Most of it was smooth, round and quarter sized, but some jagged pieces as well as both clear and white were seen. I have some of it in my freezer. An hour or so before the hail storm hit, we had some of the biggest storm clouds I have ever seen. Amazing! |

Most of precip catch occurred with this storm between 7:20 and 7:45 pm. Also saw one or two pieces of pea-sized hail just a few minutes after heavy rain began. |
