Certainly felt the 5.6 earthquake at 10.53 pm last night. Shake lasted 10 secs and was strong. There have been 11 aftershocks since.. but not felt them. This is an old fault that is waking up and has been for a couple of years. We are approx 50 miles SW of the epicentre. The USGS has reports and takes submissions. |

What a wild night ! Earthquake and Thunder ! Quake was the 4.7 felt here at 8.46pm Mon night.. just a 3 sec shake this time and softer than Friday nights. The storm front didnt seriously start to get loud and lusty till just around Midnight.. then it just didnt stop . We lost power several times.The Front has finally passed through come 7.30am. I am English... used to Storm and Tempest... but this was a real Oklahoma Show if ever.!! |

Continuous and violent for nearly an hour from 10.55pm last night when rain started then intermittant all night. Of the total rainfall .85 of it fell tween 10.55pm and 11.25pm. Thunder and lightning has continued to this point (almost 9am but guage read at 8am)but now clearing from the NW. This has been a very violent storm even though we thankfully escaped wind and hail. The total amount of rain (1.10)is less than I would have expected but it a true amount given that we didnt have wind sheer. |

Morning ! Glad to see someone fed the hamsters and that there is a site connection this morning ! Rain fell quite heavily aroud 3.30pm yesterday afternoon and rain stopped play .. mower didnt like the wet grass. From that rain .20 of the total amount fell. There was a small thunder storm with it. Thennnnnn .. around 4am we had alot of thunder and lightning (one of the dogs wrapped himself around my head on the bed throughout..)but a small amount of rain (.05)So.. total of .25 good rain. Tremendous lightning show not on top of us but around us approx 3-4am . Like the obs of the Edmond cohort... the frogs were VERY vocal last night ! Yesterday I had a spinal procedure in OKC. As we left the hospital at around 3.30pm the skies burst. The rain was extrememly hard and there was obvious area flooding. The traffic was crawling the rain was SO hard the windscreen wipers werent able to keep up in any way. There was some thunder and lightning (not as much as I would have expected) and deeply dark sky.If I had lived there I would have definately have been entering a significant weather report . As we drove south to here we drove out of it. First to no rain or wetness visible.. then about 8 miles from here just a dampness visible. It was not raining but had rained a little and the .11 was the result. From the signs around I would think it had rained for about 15-20 mins as it had the night before.... but it had dried up. |

Once it cleared the humidity sharply rose of course but this was MUCH needed rain. Now we need alot more.. so hoping we get some this week. Seems as always we were on the edge of the storms. BUT will take the .10" rain with thanks ! The sky had alot of lightning to the SW from around 9.30pm.... was still dry here and the storm was tame and mild by the time it reached us at 11.15pm. Light rain and intermittant till 1am. Rain !!!!!! The thunder rumblings could be heard in the distance at around 9pm. Not till 12.10am did they become strong and then at 12.27am the rain started.!! It became hard with a loud storm but little wind with it. The heavy rain continued till 12.40am and tailed off to a light fall until around 1am. At 3.30am there was a short sharp storm but it lasted maybe only 5 minutes. We have 6" of water in our pond but that wont last. We are on pure sand here. This rain is SO needed but we will be back to sand and dust in about 3 days at most. We need long and consistent rain like this..... but this is a start. |

This .10" was from yesterday morning's beautiful light contant rain that ceased around 12 noon. For the first time in I cannot rememebr how long the ground "gives" slightly under my feet. . The water in the pond from yesterday only lasted till 1pm ! Not unexpected ! Ohhhh !! This feels wonderful... now just need 2-3 hrs constant light rain at night for the next couple of months and just maybe we will say the drought abated ! Yeah.... like that will happen!
