2/20 3:28 PM we had a few BIG drops of rain, then it stopped. At 3:43 PM light rain started, going in all different directions due to the wind. By 3:46 there were a few tiny (1/16")hailstones mixed in with the rain for a few seconds.
At 3:48 there were a few 1/8"-3/16" hailstones mixed in with lots of smaller ones and rain for maybe 20 secs. By approx. 3:55 it stopped, and we had .06" rain in the gauge, and that was it for this storm. |

At 10:19 we had 1 min. of salt-rcok size, hard, white, hail mixed w/rain. (prob. 65% rain)
By 10:30 it was down to a sprinkle, and by 11:30 it stopped altogether, and we had .63" new precip. Failed to write down when it began again, but by 2:40 it had stopped again, and we had .68" At 4:45 we had salt-rock-sized ice pellets only, for a couple of mins., which did not add enough to the precip. amt. to change the reading. (It was only partly cloudy at that point.) |

Hit with such force at 4:12am I sat bolt-upright in bed and thought it was lrg. hail hitting the house. By the time I awakened the family, the loud noise had stopped and was just a regular ol' thunderstorm. Didn't see any hail out on the grass, and there was no evidence of hail on my hail pad, so I guess it was just such wind-driven rain that it sounded like hail. Yaaaay! How long has it been since we've received an inch of rain?!? Feel sorry for all those who got clobbered by hail or tornado and have a lot to deal with this morning, though. Thankfully, that was not the case for us. We received a few minutes of mostly pea-sized hail, from 8:59 to 9:03 pm. Right now I'm hearing thunder coming from the system to our south. (Looking out the north windows I see blue sky and sunshine, so hearing the long roll of thunder nearby surprised me!) |

Rain began 6/1 at 8:57a.m., much to my surprise. By the lull at 9:35, we had only received .01". By approx. 2:30 (I actually forgot to look at the clock, so that is a guesstimate), we had .30" in the gauge; and by 3:16 we had our final amount of .43" in the gauge. Most of the time it was just an intermittent, light rain; but occasionally it rained hard for a few minutes. Heard some thunder rumbling occasionally (only saw the lightening once).

The wind slammed our house at 2:30a.m.. The rain started around 3:00a.m. and rained intermittently for a couple of hours. (It had stopped by 5:41 a.m.) We have standing water in our usual spots in the yard.

Was lightly sprinkling intermittently at time of yesterday's observation. By 8 a.m. we had rec'd .03"; from 9:27 to 11:07 it looked like we had rec'd approx. .40" (looking through binoculars this time, and my gauge wasn't turned so I could see the numbers. I looked at this point because it was starting to downpour, and I wanted a before & after reading so I could do a significant weather report if needed...which I did.) In the significant weather report I submitted I said we had rec'd abt. .4o" in 7 mins.. THat was actually on the low side, as we actually got abt. .60" in that 7 min. period I think (again, looking through binoculars), and it rained hard about 10 mins. beyond my sig. weather report for a total of 1.43"! We only got .01" in a sprinkling a little later in the day. Talk about a cloudburst! |

The storm to our south back-built until it was on top of us, and joining the storm to our north; It rained from 9:53-9:57a.m., then started again at 10:02. Stronger rain with some strong wind hit at 10:15 as the main storm from our north arrived. The stronger rain and wind died down at 10:21. Harder rain again for less than a minute at 10:52. Stopped completely at 11:30 a.m., at which time we had received 1.17" of rain. :-) It rained again, lightly, from 11:47-11:53, and from 12:44- approx. 2:15p.m., giving us another 0.12". |

We had a nice rain from approx. 12:25p.m.-12:45p.m.... but because I had a sprinkler in that area before that time... and I didn't make sure it was emptied before it started raining... I don't know for SURE how much was rain, and how much was sprinkler water! I'm mad at myself! What I DO know is that all the ground around our 1 1/2 acres is soft & squishy... so we got a good amount.
