The skies cleared off and the rain on the surface then froze. The skies are still clear and the temp is now down to 32 degrees from a high of 40 at 5 am. Must have been a small pocket of heat.

The moon shining across the frost on the plants and lawn made it look like it had snowed, but no such luck. Nice to see the sky. Must admit that with it being winter and having 17 days in a row of ZERO's, is a bit boring.

Our average is usually 1.5 to 1.75 inches. I just read it is usually our wettest month. The year started with little moisture then gave us a wet spring and summer then went out with a fizzle. See what next year brings. It is clear and sunny out right now and 29 degrees. Winds 3 mph.

The steady winds were approx 7 mph. The gauge was completely full of snow when I got home at 5 pm. So it was difficult to get any accurate measurements anywhere. So my snow data is an average of several samples. Light freezing drizzle falling at this time. Approx. one tenth inch covering car.

Peak wind was 27 mph, Total rain was 0.32 in, rainfall rate off Davis weather station showed a rate of 8 inches per hour that lasted for about 2 minutes. Visibility was down to about 1 tenth mile at height of storm. Rain was coming down fast enough that storm drains could not handle water so streets were flooded, about 3 - 4 inches deep. There were other short squalls that passed throughout the evening and night but not as significant.
