Hot and humid yesterday. This area was clipped by a stout thunderstorm at 2:45 pm yesterday. About 2 hours later, a beautiful cumulonimbus cloud was spotted over the house, which dropped rain just 5 miles southeast, though no rain here. Lightning was heard on a regular basis during the storm at 2:45pm, though no warning was issued. Almost all rain fell within 15 minutes of the 2:45 storm. A very exciting storm!! |

A very strong thunderstorm just missed this gauge to the north by about 1 mile around 2:25 pm. But we did get intense lighting and a strong outflow with wind gusts exceeding 30 mph. Another cell moved through around 2:47pm and lasted until 3:05 pm which is where our rain total arised from. A very exciting day! |
