Min Temps ranged from 26-32 with the lowest readings in the center of the Valley in the mid to upper 20s...South Valley temps were in the upper 20s to 32F.

A weak vorticity max in the NNW-SSE flow aloft generated a low cloud field that resulted in some terrain-induced precipitation...snow flakes observed on the South San Joaquin Valley floor from Tipton to Porterville...and around the upwind slopes of the S.Sierra and Tehachapi Mtns. The cloud cover minimized radiational cooling despite Friday afternoon max temps only around 50 degs F. Dew points remaining in the 20s and overnight min temps reflecting the higher dew points. Temps initially dropped to as low as 32F as early as 1800 PST but then bounced up with the arrival of clouds...staying in the upper 20s to mid 30s for much of the night and dropping only to the upper 20s with a few colder areas spiking downward to the mid 20s at dawn.

Monday afternoon Max Temps were only in the upper 40s with residual, trapped air in the S.J.Valley Air Basin. Dewpoints were in the low to mid 20s with a rogue 19F at Lemoore at sunset. 24-Hr Change indicated temps similar to Sunday Afternoon but dewpoints were 1-5F lower. 32F was reached by 1900PST in coldest locations and 27F as early as 2200PST. NE wind flow aloft was the likely culprit for initially lowering dewpoints but around 0300PST flow reached sufficient strength to effectively stop and/or slow temp falls. Representative minimums around the S.J.Valley were 27-32F with a few coldest locations down to 24-26F...primarily the center and west side of the Valley.

A couple of citrus locations managed to drop to 32F but only low-lying CIMIS stations showed sub-freezing minimums around 31F. Last of the "cold episode" as moderating cloud cover brought minimums all into the 40s for the morning of the 24th.
