Supposed to be cooler today, right now it is 60 & still feels like it could be hot. If our onshore flow returns it will cool off. Yesterday really zoomed up, it was 90 a short while b4 noon. Then at 2pm it showed 103 in north Santa Rosa & here. By 3pm it was 104 at my house & per car thermometer it was 108 on State Farm Dr. Whew! It felt like it too. At 5pm it had dropped a bit to to 101. |

Currently 46 out and overcast with fog. High of 66 with cool wind off & on thru day. When I was at RP's 24hr fitness a cloudburst arrived at 1:40pm. At first it sounded liked it might be hail too, but it was just very heavy, big dropped rain that downpoured for aprx. 5 minutes moving onward to the northeast. When I arrived home a short while later it was dry there. |

Clearing from coastal & ground fog, 49 out. After a high of 78 coastal fog was coming in between 7:15 & 7:45pm. it was still just coastal fog at 10:15pm. At 11:30 when out with dog a moist almost dense ground fog was deepening that was very wet. Since it was just a smigden above 1/2 mile visibility I called in a spotter report at 11:36pm. Later it was so wet that from inside you could hear it dripping & falling off trees. The entire yard looks like it rained, although pavement is dry. |

Clear 54 out after a high of 67. The ground fog was still in at RP at 10:20am, as I drove north it was trying to clear in downtown Santa Rosa. However north end of town was still fogged in and did not clear until 11:30am. There was still high clouds when fog cleared that increased in mid afternoon. |

Wind & rain continued all night with an aprx. eyeball look at gauge at 1am it estimated amount of 1.30 then as it was pouring & didn't want to miss any rain while emptying gauge. 12-1 correction when I was out walking today I noticed that the streets around me like Verde Circle & another Court did flood on Thurs night / Fri am which means RPXWY also flooded as it floods b4 we do. Currently in Sparks, Nv. & it is 20 with some iceles hanging from roof, snow at aprx. 2" deep in many places, solid on some yards & just on edges of others, roofs have snow too. Icey sidewalks, driveways & streets anywhere snow or ice melts during day. Many places with ice on them do not melt completely during the day. Hills are mostly snow covered. |

Then when going west on Piner Rd at abt Coffey Ln saw lighting flash across clouds just to west at abt 2:37pm. Dropped off grandson & headed back when rain started again @2:50pm. Rain intensified into a downpour by 3pm. no hail but it just opened up & poured. I pulled over to make a call @Coddingtown & heavy rain continued with a river of water thru parking lot & ponding. Called in 2nd spotter rpt @3:21pm. I est. in the 20m downpour that .35 - .50 of rain fell. Going south on Cleveland water was ponding & standing in road abt 4"-6" deep in places, especially on northbound side so those cars really sprayed water up as they drive. Alas when I reached Rohnert Park by 3:50pm the streets were dry. There u have it, Sonoma County's micro climates! |

From Friday coming up the Cotati grade with grandson for the weekend & the return trip on Sunday night; it was astonishing with warmer weather how much browner the grass on hillside was. Normally this doesn't start happening till mid may or on about Memorial Day. |

Clear with some clouds & 50. High was 84. Grass is not holding up as I saw 2 pastures in different locations in west county that were already supplementing it with hay. When took afternoon break between tomales & valley ford at elephant rock it was very windy & there was a solid fog bank just a bit offshore. You couldn't see beyond tomales point towards the point Reyes lighthouse due to fog. |

Clear with a warm wind & already 56 out. When we were in direct sun when walking the dog, it already was warm feeling. I actually did the walk in a short sleeve t-shirt! Mostly Clear with some high clouds & 68. High was 80 with a breeze until it became windy about 3pm until 7:30pm. Finally had a ripe 3" tomato! Yum blt anyone? I have been harvesting sungolds since mid August. Summer had a great warm start. Then 2nd week of July our June gloom finally arrived & lasted into August. This put brakes on ripening of tomatoes, I though kept gettin zucchini. |

Clear & 69. High was 79 with wind in afternoon. Forgot to add in yesterday that yellow pair tomatoes as being harvested. Unfortunately some critter ate all of my bumper crop of 1 red & 1 green grapes. This is weird as I have had the vines for over 15 years with much of a problem. This is 1st year I have had a tall backyard fence. |

Cloudy & overcast with fog, 63. High was 72 after fog cleared at 11:15am. Fog came back thru Tomales gap & was completely in by 5pm. I felt frizzle coming down at 7:15pm & drops were visable on mailbox. When out at 11:30pm I could see & feel frizzle while noticing back patio & steps were completely wet. |

Still overcast & a muggy 59. High was 67 & it never cleared completely all day. The Sun partly broke thru from 3pm - 4pm, but there was still 85% clouds & it turned muggy in afternoon. The mugginess made it seem warmer than it was. |

Clear windy & cool 46. High was 72 with wind. Part of my persimmon tree that needed trimming & was overloaded with persimmons split almost all the way. The part that split seems to ok with no wilted leaves. It has a diameter of about 10" & was a bit split before however wind finished the job. |
