Most of precipitation fell as light drizzle between 6 and 7 pm last night. Just occasional sprinkles this morning at time of observation. Low temp last night was 56.3, now 61.5 at 8:30 am. Unusually warm weather for this time of year- usual highs are in mid 60s and lows around 40. Have had 6 consecutive days over 80 with a peak of 86.4 on Saturday. Light south/southwest breeze of 5-10 mph. Yesterday's high was 77.4. Barometric pressure is currently 29.90 inHg and steady. Relative humidity is 50% and falling. Very dry, pasture growth is slower than usual for this time of year. |

Temperature yesterday peaked at 64.9 degrees before start of rain and then fell steadily to 54 by 4 pm. There were a few thunder-claps last night around 9 pm. but nothing major. Low last night was 39.6. High today was 61.5 and partly sunny. Potential for frost tonight. We better get our 100+ tomato plants covered! |

Yesterday the high temp of 82 was reached at 2 pm. At approximately 3:30 pm a thunderstorm blew through. Winds gusted to 25-30 mph with heavy rain and thunder (no lightning was observed at my location though.) During the thunderstorm the temperature fell to 61. After the thunderstorm moderate occasional rain continued through evening. The rain became more steady and heavy around 9 pm. This morning it is foggy and 41 degrees with light drizzle. |

There was a passing shower from about 12:30 to 1:00 yesterday afternoon with intermittent light rain. The drops were very big. High yesterday briefly reached 66.4 at 12:00 but then dropped with the shower to 54 and hovered at 53-55 all afternoon. This morning it is mostly cloudy, the low was 38.3 and the forecast calls for a 30% chance of rain and a high of 61. |

High yesterday was 63.9. Low this morning was 42.1. Currently (at 8:15 am.) the relative humidity is 73%, it is 49.3, and the sky is 70% clear. Monthly total rainfall is 2.58 inches. Normal is 2.79. It has been beautiful weather for working the garden! There has been just enough rain to keep it moist but not enough to make the soil unworkable. I am hoping we have a nice June- not like last year's. (Last June we received over 7 inches of rain combined with very chilly daytime highs in the low 50's in the first week of the month.) Year-to-date precipitation is now 13.55 inches. Normal is 15.15 inches. Last year we had received a Year-to-date total of nearly 24 inches by this time! |

All precipitation from 2 strong t-storms that moved through in early morning hours. First one came around 2 am and lasted until 3:00 am. Second one came around 4:45 am and lasted through 5:45 am. Both storms brought torrential rain, dime-sized hail, and impressive frequent lightning of all types (mostly in-cloud flashes, but also some cloud-to-ground and cloud-to-cloud bolts). Not much wind though, only 15-20 mph at max. |

Looks like we may see the beginning of real summer next weekend with highs expected to soar into the upper 80's to low 90's for the first time. (of course, as is always the case here in the northern mountain valleys, nighttime temps ALWAYS fall below 60 degrees even in the hottest spells. Warm and dry! Beautiful weather! Low humidity and light breeze. High temperature yesterday was 87.1. Low this morning was 56. When I look at the comments for a lot of the eastern states and see all the reports of too much rain and muggy weather, I wonder why anyone would want to live in the east. I am not exaggerating when I say that extreme northern Idaho has the best summer weather in the United States. All but a few nights each summer fall below 60 and midday relative humidity almost always drop below 30%- frequently 18-25%. Despite this, the frequency of wildfires in this area is very low. We have not had one in a few years.
