Half of total is from squall line, which struck just before 4 a.m., thundering by with all the sound and duration of the roar of a passing NASCAR race. the remainder of total is from soaking showers that followed and tapered off by noon. I've confirmed at least six barns down, one within 100 yards of my happily-spared house. Widespread wind damage in varying areas of the county; lots of mangled and uprooted trees, but no homes destroyed. All damage appears to have ben caused by ferocious straight-line wind; I observed no evidence of tornadic activity. Miraculously, no injuries.
