It appears now that we are back that the last two weeks have seen almost 7 inches of rain here. The lake is overflowing the banks and is draining very, very slowly. I wonder if the beavers have built another dam on the south side.

6/16/2013 8:30 AM 0.52 M M M M A gentle rain after 1 a.m. had some distant thunder. This station will once again be off the air until the rest of the rain gauge gets repaired. Sorry about the delays, it's frustrating to have these tiny cracks in my gauge. It must have frozen when I didn't know it after it got installed this spring. Good old Michigan!

7/5/2013 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The lake continues to be over its banks but seems to be lowering very, very slowly. We may have to look for a beaver dam somewhere on the south side. The water appears to be killing a Tamarack (Larch) tree near the shore.
