Around 7:15 am a massive storm cell came over with violent lightening [first time I have ever cringed, ducked and screamed]and thunder and torrential rain. It was all welcomed. |

Despite forecasts Ovando area got nuthin, nada, zip except for a few drops. However 10 miles north at Monture trailhead they got a wind sheer that took out old growth trees and flattened a truck. Crazy. |

The 30% chance of showers finally hit Ovando and brought some much needed rain; altho it was in the middle of a late afternoon float for us down the Blackfoot River. The 40% or more forecasts brought us nothing so took a chance. See where it got us? |

Storm came thru 10:30 pm and dropped some rain but a lot of lightening. One even hit near the house and we found smoke in the morning. By noon we had the 40'x40' fire contained and DNRC came to mop up and keep an engine on it thru out the night. Always fun. |

Wow what a ride in the mornings. Sunday and today started off with heavy rain [~1/4" each morning] and screaming winds for about an hour. Then it dissipates and leaves us with clouds, a few mists and trees in the road to saw out. Gonna be so late for work today. |
