2/4/2013 8:10 AM T T T T T Trace of snow fell yesterday starting around 11:45 AM and continuing off and on throughout the day. There was no accumulation. There was no snow that made it to the gauge but have to put "trace" because we saw it coming down. Some of the flurries were a bit heavier but not much. Some were sun showers which were pretty as the snow flitted around. The amount of snow left is just where the piles were from plowing or shoveling. The areas in the lawn are tiny patches of ice and there are very few of those, maybe 5 or 6 and these range in 1/2 ft. to a couple feet long and irregularly 6" to maybe a ft. wide. They are a thin layer of ice. The snow piles along the street are still there but melting fast except for alongside the east side of the driveway where it hasn't melted much. Those are from shoveling and plowing so started out pretty high. I know this isn't very precise. I can't measure the depth of the patches on the ground as they are ice.

The area which had no snow piled up on it left especially for measuring is a thin layer of ice. But there is enough snow in the yard that if it was spread around it might make the measurements registered. I know...not very scientific. There are bare areas in some places where we didn't shovel and piles where we shoveled the snow to.

This morning around 8:10 AM the total measurement in the gauge was 7.1". The Monday report for previous snow in gauge was 1.92". Total snow depth average 10" for the amount in the main yard.
3/2/2013 3/04/2013 8:15 AM 3 0.05 T M It was flurrying yesterday in the morning at time of measurement. When it stopped later in the afternoon, I forgot to measure it. There had been small amounts of snow on the ground but it didn't stay. Then it snowed in flurries again leaving a tiny amount on the ground. It didn't stay either. This morning there was no snow on the ground that was new unless it was in the snow that has been there for a couple weeks. The board had ice. Then the Monday measurement: 5" depth of new and old snow. 2.71" melted in the gauge.
