Observation Date Observation Time Precipitation Snowfall Snowfall SWE Snow Depth Snow SWE Notes
10/1/2012 7:00 AM 0.73 M M M M Mainly light to moderate rain fell off and on from about 3:00 pm Sunday till sometime pre-dawn this morning. There was a menacing low hanging overcast in spite of the fact the rain had presumably temporarily quit at observation time.
10/2/2012 7:00 AM 0.25 M M M M On Monday there were a few showers in the morning, and some drizzle and fog in the afternoon. There was a mostly cloudy sky with breaks in it by observation time. There was a thick overcast Monday, and altocumulus clouds this morning.
10/3/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The clouds decreased Tuesday, and the temperature was pleasant. Wednesday morning was clear and cold.
10/4/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Wednesday was partly cloudy in the afternoon and pleasant.
10/5/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Thursday was almost like a Summer day with afternoon cumulus except the temperature was a bit cooler in the low 80's for a high.
10/6/2012 7:00 AM 0.35 M M M M There were at least two periods of rain, and thundershowers. One started around 8:00 pm and lasted about an hour. The 2nd was around midnight and lasted for a shorter time. It also quickly turned colder after another Summer like day. An overcast pushed in during the afternoon and slowly thickened as the afternoon and evening. This morning it was cold with breaks in the overcast developing.
10/7/2012 7:00 AM 0.12 M M M M Most of the rain fell off and on between 3:00 pm and midnight. It was generally light. It was sunny in the morning Saturday, and mostly clear this morning as well. It was also felt cold.
10/8/2012 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M One shower hit in the pre-dawn hours. Sunday was cool and dry with light mainly high clouds. Clouds increased during the evening and overnight keeping the temperature up area wide. The low reached approximately the upper 40's busting the forecast. A thin overcast with breaks existed at observation time.
10/9/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I did not notice any frost this morning. Otherwise it was partly cloudy with a hint of fog with a cold dew on the grass. Skies were partly cloudy, and dry yesterday with the clouds clearing out in the evening.
10/10/2012 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M I don't know when the rain ended but I heard it start at around 11:45 pm. Most of Tuesday was mainly clear and sunny. It was overcast at observation time.
10/11/2012 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Once again there was no frost this morning as clouds moved in and the temperature warmed during the pre-dawn hours. Wednesday was mainly clear and dry.
10/12/2012 7:28 AM 0.23 M M M M The rain began at 1:15 pm and continued to fall on and off for the remainder of the time. There was a long break in the rain during the evening, and the rain had resumed by morning. When I measured it was sprinkling a bit and showers were in the area. No lightning occurred with the rain and it was generally light to moderate.
10/13/2012 7:00 AM 0.90 M M M M Showers and a few thunderstorms hit throughout the morning Friday. The rain ended by mid afternoon giving way to fog and occasional drizzle, or mist. The fog still hung over the area by morning. Temperatures were mainly in the lower 60's throughout Friday.
10/14/2012 6:30 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It looks like the approaching rain will begin right at 7 am. So I decided to record a zero so I won't miss any rainfall fron the measuring process. Sarurday was beautiful, mainly partly cloudy with cumulus during the day and a cirrus, and altostratus near overcast by dusk. It was also warm with a high in the low 80's. It currently is windy, and cloudy and threatening with a temperature of about 69.I look forward to tomorrow's report.
10/15/2012 7:00 AM 0.30 M M M M The rain began about 10 minutes after what was supposed to be the observation time yesterday and ended around 2 and a half hours later. An overcast sky and a thick fog was evident at observation time with visibility of about a 1/4 mile.

There was some radar echoes just southeast of the area all day Tuesday and the pavement remained wet most of the day so there could have been some drizzle over the area during part of the day so I put a trace in for the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise it was overcast and cold all day, and night.
1/3/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The clouds thinned Wednesday morning with the Sun shining through a cirrostratus sky. It rethickened during the afternoon covering up the Sun as the temperature barely rose above freezing. 1/10/2013 7:00 AM 0.82 M M M M Light rain fell for a few hours Wednesday morning followed by fog and cloudy skies. Rain returned around dusk and fell much of the night. Drizzle was falling at observation time and it was mild for this time of year. The long dry spell is a small step towards termination. Let's hope we get about half the rain predicted in coming days. We don't need it all at once.
1/11/2013 7:00 AM 0.73 M M M M Once again rain occurred in the morning, and overnight periods. No thunder was noted but winds were especially gusty in the evening. By morning only scattered cirrus and contrails were in a mainly clear sky. It's going to be a nice day.

It's possible there was a rumble of thunder at observation time but I saw no lightning and am unsure about it. 1/13/2013 7:00 AM 1.63 M M M M There was a few light showers Saturday morning. However the majority of the rain did not fall until after midnight Sunday. Moderate to heavy rain with occasional thunder occurred from about 1 am till observation time at which point the rain continued to fall. There may have been a brief break between 6 am, and 7 am or at least a lessening of the rain. This has been positive for the drought and I hope its not excessive the rest of this morning.
1/14/2013 7:00 AM 0.98 M M M M It rained most of the day Sunday with occasional thunder occurring. It heard it may have ended as a mix at MKL as the temps reached the 30's but I was unable to confirm that so I'll assume it was all rain. The ground was icy this morning as the water froze in the yard with the temperature near 26. The street appeared to be clear however. I'm hoping we avoid an icy mess today and tomorrow.
1/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M During Monday afternoon a nearly 1-2 hour period of precipitation began with light snow that changed to a mixture of rain, sleet, freezing rain, occasionally mixed with snow that fell off and on. In the afternoon the clouds that remained were cirrus clouds with warmer than expected temperatures occuring. By this morning it was overcast again with a fairly thick stratus. The next 24 hours should prove interesting. I hope we can avoid the tornado threat though.
1/30/2013 7:00 AM 2.15 M M M M A scary night unfolded as high winds, and heavy rains hit after midnight. A few showers hit before midnight, and after about an hour of intense rain, and wind with possibly a little hail heard and some lightning the rain fell more lightly for an indeternimate amount of time before ending an hour or 2 ago. The wind increased throughout the day Tuesday, and could be heard from the south throughout the evening. However I noticed no damage, or flooding this morning, so I assume things are OK.

I don't know exactly when the precipitation began but I know it ended about 10:45 pm. I noticed children getting ready to go to school and imagine they were dissapointed it didn't snow more.

By this morning it was windy and warm with a few fast moving cumulus clouds in the sky. The wind knocked a large branch down in one of the trees in my front yard. I'm hoping and praying that it's not as bad tonight as forecast, but preparing for the worst.
4/19/2013 7:00 AM 1.83 M M M M Rain and thundershowers moved in around 6:30 pm with strong winds continuing. It had been a tense day and I was relieved when the NWS downgraded the severe threat. The temperature dropped slowly through the afternoon, before dropping sharply when the front hit in the evening. 4/27/2013 7:00 AM 1.31 M M M M I seriously considered waiting until tomorrow to report a 2 day total rather than go out into a thunderstorm to record this but some weird idea of volunteer duty led me on. They don't call Tennessee the Volunteer State for nothing. Rain, with occasional thunderstorms began yesterday afternoon and continued off and on through the night, and into this morning. Otherwise it was unusually cool and cloudy. As I mentioned before a thunderstorm with moderate to heavy rain and occasional lightning was in progress when I recorded this. The river situation must be getting bad.
4/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.73 M M M M The rain continued off and on till evening with occasionsl thunderstorms. The big thunderstorms missed to the north and south with only a little rain from there outer edges in the mid to late evening with the cold front ending the rain around 10:30- 10:45 pm. 5/2/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M I don't know when the rain fell. There were towering cumulus clouds in the afternoon yesterday, and a near overcast with breaks to the north. The overcast was a thin altocumulus, and altostratus mixture.

There were definitely a few heavy showers in the area as I saw a few rain shafts in the distance, and there was a lot of towering cumulus throughout the afternoon. This morning there was altostratus, and some cumulus. It was warm and humid throughout the time period. Looks like blackberry winter is about to make an appearance. The southernmost extent of the snow on the national map is unbelievable.
5/4/2013 7:00 AM 1.67 M M M M Rain heavy at times fell from around 12:30 pm to about 2 to 3 am. The cold front hit at about 12:40 om yesterday rapidly dropping the temperature to the 40's by late afternoon. skies were mostly clear by observation time. 5/5/2013 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M A few showers fell late in the afternoon, possibly in the evening, and a little bit of rain was falling around observation time. I was a bit surprised there wasn't more rain in the gauge but on the other hand there was no heavy rain to speak of. 5/11/2013 7:00 AM 1.08 M M M M Rain, heavy at times, fell off and on throughout the day Friday, and possibly into the evening hours. It was definitely over by midnight, and probably as soon as 5:30 pm. This morning it was cool and overcast. The pattern sure has changed in the past few months.
5/12/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M It didn't like the rain would hit us when I went to sleep last night so this may be the sign of a poorly drained gauge. If it did rain it happened late last evening when the cold front pushed through. Otherwise there was clearing skies by afternoon followed by the frontal clouds in the evening and clear skies by this morning.
5/13/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There was no frost this morning. Otherwise it was clear and cool yesterday with a strong northerly wind.

5/16/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There was some light cirrus Wednesday morning which increased in coverage with some scattered altocumulus by dusk. Overcast skies existed by this morning but it has yet to rain.
5/17/2013 8:41 AM 0.22 M M M M Woke up late. A few sprinkles fell Thursday at midday, and early afternoon and a shower hit in the late afternoon. More showers fell after midnight with a considerable amount of distant lightning. I heard few reports of thunder however. Rain has fallen more generally in the last 2 hours with light, or no rain falling in the last 20 minutes.
5/18/2013 7:00 AM 0.32 M M M M Mainly moderate rain fell from midday till approximately 2:30 om. Then the Sun came out and things turned partly cloudy. In spite of the late Spring Sun coming out the air was sufficiently rain cooled to keep temps in the 70's/ at observation time there was a rather thick fog.
5/19/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M You can put a question mark by this because I never saw it rain, and sometimes I don't get all of the moisture out of the gauge as well as I should. But the gauge certainly had some water in it this morning. If it did rain it most likely happened in the late afternoon, or evening as there was some thick cumulus and even some tattered cumulonimbus clouds in the area at that time.
5/20/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M On Sunday the Sun shown through a sky filled with different kinds of cirrus clouds and a little altocumulus as well. Clouds had thickened by this morning with an overcast sky evident.
5/21/2013 6:00 AM 0.13 M M M M I woke up early and decided to report. The rain fell from 3:47 to approximately 5:30 am. There was a lot of thunder with it, and the power flickered during the storm. Was surprised there wasn't more rain. Yesterday was partly to mostly cloudy with s lot of cumulus, some of it towering. I hope we are spared what happened in OK, and TX in previous days.
5/22/2013 7:00 AM 2.39 M M M M Several periods of rain occurred during the period. The most intense was in the late morning and late afternoon. There were a few sunny periods in between the rain bands. A considerable amount of lightning, and periodic gusty winds also occurred with the storms. I hope that's all we get for a while.
5/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Clouds slowly decreased Wednesday with no clouds remaining by dusk. The clouds were primarily cumulus. It was clear this morning as well. Temps were pleasant.
5/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Fair weather cumulus dominated the sky most of the day Thursday as a strong northerly wind blew making it seem cool at times even in the middle of the afternoon. A few scattered cumulus and cirrus clouds remained this morning as the temps were in the 50's. Yesterday's high was in the 70's. Beautiful but unusually cool weather for late May.
5/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M All there were yesterday were a few widely scattered cirrus clouds. The cirrus increased in coverage overnight. It was cooler and pleasant yesterday with a high near 73. I don't believe it got as cool as expected yesterday.
5/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Thin cirrus clouds prevailed with ample sunshine and warmer temps.
5/27/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Light cirrus clouds were in the sky throughout Sunday including a few producing virga. A thicker overcast existed by this morning. Have a safe and thoughtful Memorial Day.
5/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Throughout the period there was a partly cloudy sky with several cloud types mixed together. Once again there was no rain.
5/29/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Just a few small cumulus, and barely visible cirrus clouds were in the sky yesterday. This morning it was clear.
5/30/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There was some cumulus, and cirrus through most of the afternoon Wednesday. The dry streak continued, and I'm sure the strong wind helped dry things up. This morning there was a little cirrus and plenty of sunshine.
5/31/2013 8:30 AM 2.00 M M M M There was a powerful storm that hit yesterday around 6:30 to 7 pm. It ended about a hour or 2 later. There was an opening wind gust that must have been at least 60 mph as the trees were bent backwards. Only some minor tree damage occurred, and no hail happened when the storm hit. Some thunder, and heavy rain occurred as well. More rain fell after midnight and was still falling when I checked the gauge. Occasional thunder has occurred with the morning rain which has been falling for about 3-4 hours. The storm last evening knocked out the cable tv but not the power. There was heavy puddling in the yard this morning.
6/1/2013 6:00 AM 0.14 M M M M Light to moderate rain continued through Friday morning with sunshine occurring in the afternoon. It was mostly cloudy by this morning with a few sprinkles in the area. It was a warm day with highs in the 80's.
6/2/2013 7:00 AM 0.58 M M M M There were a few showers in the morning, a thunderstorm at midday, and some lingering rain showers in the afternoon. I don't know if it rained overnight but the street was partially wet this morning. Fortunately no major severe weather hit the area. Looking forward to improved weather today, and tomorrow.
6/3/2013 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M A little rain fell Sunday morning for an unknown duration. Clouds slowly decreased in the late morning and afternoon. Some thin clouds existed this morning.
6/4/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Fair weather cumulus covered much of the sky through most of Monday. The clouds increased in the morning and decreased in the afternoon. There was some light cirrus this morning. Otherwise it was dry and pleasant.
6/5/2013 7:00 AM 1.43 M M M M Rain, and thunderstorms with heavy rain have fallen in the last 3 hours. This surprise rain was still falling at observation time although there were a lot of breaks in the sky and it appeared to be about over. Yesterday was tranquil with partly cloudy skies, warm temps and a light wind.
6/6/2013 6:00 AM 0.23 M M M M Rain fell Wednesday morning, and possibility before dawn this morning. There was a long break with some sunshine yesterday late morning, with more clouds in the afternoon.

6/14/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Fair weather cumulus covered most of the sky throughout Thursday and the afternoon frontal passage may have actually dropped temperatures some as the late afternoon temp was 81 and a strong breeze came from the north, This morning the wind was calm and only a little cirrus existed.
6/15/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Some thin cirrus was present through most of Friday. Otherwise there was plenty of sunshine. This morning it was clear, and mild.
6/16/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Cirrus, altostratus, and altocumulus covered most of the sky by mid afternoon. By late afternoon the sky cleared up enough for the temp to rise near 90. More clouds had pushed in by this morning with nearly overcast skies evident. Looks like the dry streak may end soon. Happy Father's Day.
6/17/2013 6:00 AM T M M M M You can put a question mark by this trace. I witnessed rain falling in the general area during the afternoon yesterday, and there appeared to be some dew like moisture on the top of the rain gauge but no obvious rain drops on the gauge. There was a near overcast throughout Sunday with the thickest clouds in the afternoon blotting out the Sun. The cloudiness had thinned significantly by this morning.
6/18/2013 7:00 AM 1.10 M M M M There was a thunderstorm at midday and a storm in the late afternoon. There may have been some rain after dusk. Not much lightning occurred with the storm. 6/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The afternoon clouds were once again anemic yesterday and a little weaker than the previous day as there was a significant amount of cirrus mixed in with the cumulus. So it was another dry day in the neighborhood.
6/25/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M This reading is a question mark. There were a few drops on the top of the gauge but none in the inner cylinder. I also never saw it rain though there were some radar echoes in the region in the afternoon and a threatening cloud in the western horizon towards sunset which represented the outer edge of a thunderstorm complex near the TN-AR border.
6/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There was scattered to numerous cumulus clouds from late morning till dusk Tuesday. Otherwise it was mainly clear. I did however notice a little bit of cirrocumulus this morning. Otherwise it was dry, and hot.

7/27/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M There was a little rain during either, or both the evening, or predawn hours. Otherwise it was partly to mostly cloudy and unseasonably mild.
7/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
7/29/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M

It was mainly light during the afternoon, and light to moderate in the evening, and overnight with no thunder.Temps continued to be unusually mild as highs struggled to make it out of the 70's. Some breaks in the sky was noted by observation time.
8/1/2013 6:00 AM 0.07 M M M M There was a thundershower that passed close enough to the area to produce a lot of thunder Wednesday morning. Little, or no rain occurred. 8/10/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The main story of yesterday was the heat and humidity making an appearance for the first time in a while. Although the high was only in the lower 90's the high humidity made it feel quite hot. There was variable but mainly sunny skies.
8/11/2013 6:00 AM T M M M M The rain probably fell yesterday morning. Otherwise the rain areas fell apart before reaching here. It was fairly pleasant in the afternoon with partly sunny skies and a high in the mid 80's.
8/12/2013 7:00 AM 0.32 M M M M The rain began around 10 am and continued for a few hours. Otherwise it was variably cloudy, and humid with highs in the 80's and this morning's low in the 70's.
8/13/2013 7:00 AM 0.44 M M M M There were occasional light to moderate showers beginning at 11:15 am, along with some occasional thunder. At 6:00 pm a low hanging shelf cloud approached from the west and it began to rain at 6:14 pm. Thunder and gusty winds also accompanied the storm, although the rain was mainly light to moderate. I don't know when the rain ended but believe it ended sometime in the mid to late evening along with the thunder which continued occasionally for an hour or 2 after the shelf cloud passed over. This morning fog, and low clouds hung over the area. It was quite warm with highs near 90 and a low this morning in the low 70's

8/22/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I woke up early this morning. The rain stayed to our south yesterday with only a partly cloudy cumulus sky evident in the afternoon. The high reached 90 for the first time in a while. I saw a farmer harvesting his corn in a nearby field which had grown quite tall for that crop although it was hard to tell how well the ears had grown on the stalk. I was saddened to hear that some farmers in this region have been hurt by the excessive rainfall and cool weather. Knowing little about agriculture I always thought a long period of 90+ heat was bad for crops. Turns out you need a balance of hot dry days with timely rainfall for most crops. I hope the corn was as productive as it was tall.
8/23/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was partly cloudy with mainly cumulus Thursday afternoon. It was mainly clear with a few cirrus, and contrails this morning. It was hot with a high near 90 and a low near 70.
8/24/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M There was a little rain towards sunset Friday as the sky turned overcast in the afternoon. I witnessed the drops on the window of the house but the rain had more or less evaporated in the gauge by morning. It was nearly overcast still by the morning, and warm with a low in the low 70's. Yesterday's high was near 90.
8/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Saturday's afternoon cumulus was small, and scattered. Otherwise it was mainly clear, and hotter. The wind was a little stronger than it's been in recent days.
8/26/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The dry spell continued as I noticed an unusually high barometric pressure for this time of year Sunday. Temps were relatively hot and there were some mainly cumulus clouds mainly in the afternoon with the coverage a little more extensive than the previous day although it never appeared threatening for rain. This morning it was clear and warm.
8/27/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Monday was hot,and humid with afternoon cumulus and no serious threat of rain.
8/28/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Tuesday was quite warm, but I think the temperature came just short of 90. There were some cumulus clouds in the afternoon, and some off and on cirrus throughout the period. It was clear this morning.

9/1/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I saw rain clouds to the south during the afternoon but I don't believe it rained here. There was a nearly overcast sky at times during the afternoon, and a few clouds left over this morning. I know the rain came close but I didn't witness any falling here.
9/2/2013 7:00 AM 0.53 M M M M Clouds thickened Sunday morning and a weakly defined shelf cloud slowly approached from the north as clouds in the lower levels moved quickly from east to west. Although it rained a long time with some possible intervals most of it was light to moderate. There was some thunder during the first 2 hours of the event.
9/3/2013 7:00 AM T M M M M Yesterday's observation may have been skewed by a bush having it's branches grow over the gauge. I cleared the branches with cutting shears yesterday so future observations should be accurate. There was rain in the area throughout the afternoon and evening and I don't know if the moisture on the gauge was due to that or this morning's dew, but I felt a few drops while at Kroger a few miles away to the south, and east so I'm including the trace.
9/4/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Tuesday was a beautiful day with fair weather cumulus, plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 80's. There were a few clouds this morning and the low was near 60.

9/7/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There's a little fog around this morning but it's not very thick. There were a few clouds with a high in the mid to upper 80's yesterday, and a low this morning in the 60's. Otherwise it was clear as the last several days have been rather uneventful.
9/8/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There were a few clouds mainly in the afternoon Saturday. It was hot and increasingly humid with a high in the lower 90's.
9/9/2013 7:00 AM 0.27 M M M M A thundershower hit this morning before dawn lasting for about an hour. Occasional lightning and some light, to moderate rain occurred with this event. Otherwise it was hot Sunday afternoon with highs in the low to mid 90's with mainly high thin clouds during the day and clouds thickening overnight prior to the rain event. It was warm this morning with a low in the mid 70's.
9/10/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was overcast Monday morning and a few showers came close to the area but missed. The sky quickly cleared by late morning and stayed that way till late afternoon when a partly cloudy sky appeared with a variety of clouds including cirrus, cirrocumulus, a little cirrostratus, altocumulus, and possibly a little cumulus. There remained a variety of clouds this morning as most of the sky was covered. No rain fell however, and it was hot with a high in the low to mid 90's yesterday.
9/11/2013 7:00 AM 0.47 M M M M I was not at the house when most of the rain probably fell. Instead I was traveling through much of north and central Jackson from about 2 pm through 4 pm. Between 3 and 4 pm I noticed scattered thunderstorms in the area with some areas where gusty winds had led to a lot of leaves, and other small debris in the roads. No major trees damage occurred, although I saw a few small limbs down near USJ High School. There were areas in the sky west of the 45 highway- Interstate 40 intersection, and some large drops hitting the windshield near Northside High School but the rain was otherwise scattered and mainly light to moderate. This morning there was a mainly overcast sky after a quiet night.
9/12/2013 6:30 AM 0.02 M M M M There was some thunder and a little rain during the late morning Wednesday. The clouds decreased by afternoon. The sky was clear this morning. The morning rain kept the high from reaching 90 in the afternoon as the high reached about 88.
9/13/2013 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M I didn't actually witness it rain so this may have been due to poor draining of the gauge. However there was rain in the area through the late afternoon and evening so it's possible some fell then. It was hot in the mid afternoon with a high near 90 but dropped when the cold front pushed through. It was in the 60's this morning and felt noticeably cooler with some cirrus, and a northerly breeze.
9/14/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I decided to report early since I was up. It definitely didn't rain and was cooler than it has been. There were only a few fair weather cumulus clouds yesterday, along with some cirrus and maybe some altocumulus. It was clear and much cooler this morning with a low well into the 50's. Yesterday's high which my thermometer can more accurately measure was in the upper 70's.

9/16/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Varying amounts of cirrus clouds floated across the sky during the period. It was warm in the afternoon and cool this morning.
9/17/2013 6:30 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A variety of clouds at the three main levels;cirrus, cumulus, alto; filled part or most of the sky throughout the day Monday. No rain fell however. The high was in the 80's. A few altocumulus existed this morning.
9/18/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M There were a few cirrus, and cumulus clouds yesterday under otherwise mostly sunny skies with highs in the 80's. This morning there were high to mid level clouds including cirrostratus, cirrocumulus, and altocumulus. About half the sky was covered this morning with very minimal coverage yesterday.
9/19/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was mainly clear and warm this morning with a few widely scattered clouds. Yesterday's high was well into the 80's with mostly sunny skies.
9/20/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Some cumulus and cirrus clouds were in the Thursday afternoon sky as temps climbed to the mid to possibly upper 80's. This morning it was warm and humid with breezy conditions and a partly cloudy sky with a variety of clouds. Looks like I'll have something to talk about tomorrow.
9/21/2013 7:00 AM 2.59 M M M M The rain began in the early afternoon, became quite heavy between 3 pm and 5:30 pm, calmed down shortly afterwards with breaks in the rain towards dusk. The rain continued at least on and off through the night, and ended a few hours ago. While I didn't hear any thunder my mother thought she saw a lightning strike during the heaviest of the rain. There was significant ponding of water during the heaviest of the rain which was quickly absorbed by the ground when the rain calmed down.
9/22/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The overcast moved out of the area during the morning leaving a few fair weather cumulus clouds through most of the afternoon with the sky clearing by dusk. It was cooler but pleasant with plenty of sunshine and a high in the 70's.

9/24/2013 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Since it doesn't look like it will rain before 7 am I might as well record my zero.
9/25/2013 7:00 AM 0.03 M M M M There was some light rain beginning around 7 am yesterday and continuing off and on throughout the day. It was still cloudy this morning and humid. No thunder was noted.

9/27/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was a nice day yesterday with fair weather cumulus in the afternoon. The high was about 80. I don't know if there's any fog right now but I know there will be no rain so I've decided to report my zero early.
9/28/2013 6:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It was another beautiful warm fall day with partly cloudy non threatening skies and a high near 80. I woke up early again and therefore decided to go ahead and record my zero.

10/26/2012 10/27/2012 8:24 AM 2 0.30 M M I was out of town Friday morning. I came back too late to record the precipitation total. Noticed on the radar the rain probably began close to observation time yesterday. It continued as a light rain till near noon. More light rain and drizzle fell in the mid afternoon with drizzle lasting into the evening hours. It was clear at observation time and there was no evidence of a frost. The temperature was in the 40's throughout Friday, and about 40 at observation time.
1/16/2013 1/17/2013 7:00 AM 2 0.22 M M The reason I was unable to record the precipitation sooner was that the rain gauge froze to the post due to ice accumulation. I think most if not all of the precipitation fell during the first observation period as rain, and freezing rain. A little sleet possibly fell when it began at 11:52 am Tuesday. The main Precip ended around 6:00 pm. Some light drizzle, or freezing drizzle fell during Tuesday evening. Wednesday was cloudy, and cold. The clouds eroded enough to produce a spectacular sunset Wednesday evening although it was overcast again this morning.
1/25/2013 1/26/2013 7:00 AM 2 0.38 M M The rain fell from about 4:00 am through about 10:30 am. From 6 to 7 am there was a dramatic drop in temperature from 43 to about 34. However no ice fell during the precipitation period as temps remained just above freezing. This morning there was some fog with temps near freezing. However significant icing was not noted. I was not out of town, but the rain fell during the observation period so I decided to wait till the next day to measure it.
4/11/2013 4/12/2013 7:00 AM 2 3.70 M M A nearly 15 to 16 hour period of rain fell from after midnight to late afternoon Thursday. There was occasional thunder and I noticed a few tree branches down in the area but I don't know if it was from the rainstorm or previous wind.
