Clear now and it is 48. Last night low fog was in by 9pm. It looked almost sureal due all the bright constructon lights in field 1 street over in that are on with not much of a lamp shade for casino employees to drive on long dirt road to casino. With the light pollution reflected back down from fog it was not that dark out. I can't imagine living on outer circle of our mhp next to field with those lights on and trying to sleep. Pre-casino it was relatively dark with fairly good star gazing. The continued dust has been bad enough, let alone all the extra critters driven out of fields and creeks by casino. High was 75 and it was 78 to 80 in some parts of Santa Rosa I was in. Due to lack of rain I am going to have to water yard today. I can't remember having to water like this in almost mid Nov. for a really long time. |

Overcast with coastal fog and 50°. High was 77 so I guess we are having our summer in November instead when we had our late July gloom. Coastal fog was in by 9:30pm that I was aware of. Then when I went out at 11pm with dog to make sure racoons weren't hanging in yard again; noticed a dense ground fog had also formed. So called in a spotter report for SO-85 @11:12pm. Then at 1:15am I heard a tiny bit of frizzle dropping off trees onto roof. However since there was nothing in gauge did not mark trace. |

A cool 45 out and earlier at 8:15am it was 39. High on a partly to mostly cloudy day was only 64 which is 14 degrees cooler than yesterday. After fog cleared at 11am, clouds started coming in. By 3pm it almost looked like a chance of rain. Unfortunately by 4:30pm most of clouds were gone although enough remained for a great sunset. With clouds gone, temps dropped quickly. |

Overcast with a tiny cool breeze that is making it seem colder than 46. High was 64 on a partly cloudy day. Was out in Bodega Bay in late afternoon doing some driving to strengthen my knee. The hills are not just brown from lack of rain but a gray washed out sepia brown. Even though clouds were coming in it was very calm even at Duncan's Landing & Bodega Head. Due to full moon it was a really low tide. This combined with clouds made for a spectacular sunset; especially from post office looking out over bay towards the head. The pockets of water left standing outside boating channel picked up & reflected back the sunset. |

YIPPEE!!! :-) It's rain; the storm door has opened a crack to push that blocking high out of the way. It is not much so far but we will take anything we can get. Currently it is 50. There were gusts up to 56mph according to local news & pd with lits of downed trees due to wet soil and some power lines. There is also a large ( 2,500 acres as of last night ) fire up at the geysers. A friend in se Petaluma had her solar panels blown off her roof Thursday that had been there for many years. It was still 70 out at 6pm. |

Clear with a light brisk breeze and it is 32. Birdbath is fozen solid and there is 1/8" across to 1/4" ice at edges across cats water that is partially protected by sheets covering plants. Currently 48 and clear. Earlier at 6:30 am it was 27. Not sure what high was here but when we left Sparks at 2pm it was a balmy 43 on an overcast day. After a few stops we left Donner Summit shortly before sunset. As we continued a descent over & through the Sierra Nevadas even though it was overcast you could look out to the horizon and it was clear. This created a gorgeous sunset and afterglow that went on for miles and a good 20 to 30 minutes. I guess if we can't have rain and have to put up with the multitude of spare the air days 6th in a row & 21st since Nov. 1st; we can at least enjoy the fantastic sunsets. |

Currently it is 42, clear with some haze and another spare the air day. High was 68. I don't know if this is a record for Rohnert Park. However Santa Rosa reached 70 according to local paper The Press Democrat breaking a 70 year old record set in 1934. All these nice days are great however we need rain. The hills are still brown with just the barest of green new grass underneath, when normally grass would be several inches tall with green hills. Because of this there is not enough for local dairy cows to graze on. I don't know what deer and other wildlife are doing since they don't have farmers to buy hay for them. In some areas such as Two Rock Valley just west of here they are having to truck in water since their ponds and wells are real low and not providing enough water. |

Clear 44 out and it isn't a spare the air day! Earlier at 4:15 am it was 31. I didn't think it was supposed to get that cold and didn't cover my biggest fern. Hazy but unfortunately clear and it is 47. A spare the air day again as wind has died down and high pressure is still locked in over us. High was 69 with another spare the air called mid am. Gov. Brown declared a statewide drought emergency after feds now show 2/3's of state in extreme drought. We are being asked to voluntarily conserve by 20%. Some towns farther north with smaller lakes or that depend on rivers are doing mandatory or limiting you to 150 gallons a day. Thank goodness we have Lake Sonoma even though I fought against it while it was in planning stages due to nature areas it would cover. |

Yay we have fog! The stuck high pressure ridge has prevented even fog from forming. Currently it is 49 and of course with fog overcast. The fog wasn't in when I took dog out at 9:30pm. Very impressive and much needed rainfall adding up to a total of 9.55 inches in 49 hours since storm began at 10am Friday. Yet there has only been minor flooding due to low river levels and drought starved ground soaking up rain like a sponge. If you go back to New Years Eve & Day 2006 when a similar amount fell on already rain soaked ground and rivers there was major flooding with water levels of 3 to 5 feet in my neighborhood yet this it didn't flood my street at all. Called in spotter reports (SO85) at 11:15 am & 11:58 am. Also did 2 significant weather reports. |

This brings us to a total since 10am Friday of 10.39" of rain. If you add in Thursday's rain it comes to 10.63" of rain. According to local TV weather anchors this gives aprx. 25% - 30% of rain needed to bring us to normal. So we need about 3 or 4 more storms like this to make it to normal keeping in mind that each day without rain adds more to the total to make it to normal. |

Overcast with fog & it is 56. Trace is from frizzle coming north on Lakeville Hwy at about Tin Barn at 8:40pm. Continued using intermittent wipers up Hwy 101 to top of Cotati Grade. I don't know what high was here but high in Reno when I left at 3:15pm was 75. When I drove up over Sierras on 4-6-14 snow level was at aprx 5500 feet in both sun & under trees. Yesterday due to warm weather this last week in Reno (high 70s & 80 2x) snow level has risen to above 6000' except for north facing hills & under trees. Rivers streams are running with snowmelt including any low spots. |

Clearing & brisk at 41. High was 58 on a gusty day. Several brief but heavy downpours especially while I was in Santa Rosa & Windsor. While I was driving south on Fulton Rd in SR heavy rain started just south of Guerneville RD & continued until I went down Wright Rd turning east onto Ludwig & was 1/2 to Stoney Point Rd. Shortly before the intersection of Wright & Ludwig Rds there was a bit of hail mixed in the size of large rice for 5 minutes. It was 95% rain & 5% hail. This was at 5pm. When I got to a place where I could pull over I called in a spotter (SO85) report at 5:10pm. |

Clear and it is a much better only 64 out. High on a muggy with high clouds overhead in afternoon was 87. I went out to Bodega Bay, Head & Duncan's Landing for an instant 26 degree temperature drop. On way out I at Valley Ford I could see that heat spell was definitely broken as fog was trying to come in. Fog was in at bay & head a bit after 1pm with temp of 60 with fog coming down from north. Then by 2pm wind calmed a bit & fog pulled out to sea clearing. It was also clear at Duncan's Landing and 61. Unfortunately I didn't see any whales at either location. |

Went out to Bodega Bay where it was 72 at Doran County Park at 3:30 pm. It was clear there with a cool breeze from northwest. There was a substantial fog bank a ways offshore. Due to fog bank you could not see across to Point Reyes National Seashore to the arm of land that sticks out with lighthouse on it. By time we left at 7pm it was still clear and temp had dropped to 64. |

Completely overcast & grey, it is 61. High was 80 on a partly cloudy day. It was still clear with a few high clouds when we left at 11:15pm to try & see meteor shower in a less light polluted place. Unfortunately due to incoming fog, some clouds & really bright supermoon we were unsuccessful. |

Fog is still in & it is 58. High was 72 after fog & clouds started clearing at 1pm. Clouds never completely clear. Fog was back in by 8:30pm, however when was out at 10:45pm it was partly clear. Still two cloudy & bright from supermoon to see meteors. |

Fog is in & it is 59. Trace of precipitation is from frizzle I heard dripping earlier. The gutters are still slightly dripping. There is moisture beads still on some leaves. High after fog started clearing at 11:30 am was 76. By 6 pm fog was coming back in. It was completely in by 7:30 pm & temp was down to 61 with a brisk breeze. |

Fog overhead feels & looks very thick. It is currently 58. After fog started clearing at 11:30 am we reached a high of 74. When fog was starting it's evening approach in late afternoon it was windy. By 5 pm I had to close windows as Temps had already dropped to mid 60s. Fog was 95% in by 6:45 pm and temp was only 60. |

Currently overcast and a light drizzle/ (dare I say rain?????) coming down that you can visibly see. it is 60. I have heard it dripping off trees & gutters since about 6:30 am. Everything streets, plants, sidewalks & dog's outside bed is wet. High was 71 after fog cleared at 1pm. Fog was back in by 7 pm. |

Lots of rockin & rolling this am. Was woke up by earthquake magnitude 6.0 at 3:20 am. Even with earthquake bracing under house still strongly felt. Only damage was container of blueberries that was shook off shelf in kitchen & fell all over floor. Epicenter was aprx. 25 miles away as the crow flies south of Napa. Power immediately went out. Aftershock of 3.6 at 5:51 am. Power came back on at 6 am. Stayed out for 15 minutes & then out again before coming back on for good. |

It seems like it is bit early for this many leaves by a couple of weeks. Nights haven't been that cold, in mid & low 50's. |

Clearing fog and it is 60 with light breeze. High was 76 with some wind. In talking with a neighbor she thought falling sycamore leaves I mentioned in yesterday's report were early too by about 2 to 3 weeks. She thought it was from drought. After talking to her that makes sense even though because of plants in backyard it has been getting some water, just not as much as normal years. The grape harvest is 2 to 3 weeks earlier than when it normally starts too. |

Fog is clearing & it is 58. Earlier this morning at 5:30 am it was 53 & heater was coming on to keep house no lower than 68 so my fibromyalgia doesn't flare up. High was 79 on a hazy day that had some smoke overhead from fires east of Eureka by Happy Camp that are now over 83,000 acres burned. Smoke is going out to sea by Eureka & a low n/w off coast is blowing it back in here aprx. 250 south. |

Spoke with daughter in Sparks, Nevada and smoke from the fire by Pollock Pines, Ca. by Hwy 50 has been bad since Sunday with yesterday worst. They haven't been able to open up house in 2 days even at night to cool down due smoke. It was so bad on Monday they couldn't see the Nugget aprx. 1/3 of a mile from their house or the GSR aprx. a mile away or downtown casinos. |

This precipitation is from light rain that fell during thunderstorms late in afternoon. Most of the rain stayed a bit north of us. I talked to friends in Santa Rosa & Windsor who said it was pouring there. We just received the Thunder & Lighting that you could hear to northwest a bit before 5 pm bit. So I called in a spotter report. It continued with thunder, moving slowly ever closer until it reached us at 6:15 pm. I saw lighting 5 times with 1 or 2 going towards ground. Rain when it came down was great big ploppy drops just not a heavy downpour like other locations. Everything quit by 7pm.It was quite a show with thunder rumbling every five minutes or less from 4:45pm to 6:50 pm. They showed pictures of an area of Napa on the news that had enough hail come down it looked like it had snowed 2 or 3 inches & temp dropped to 49. I turned in an mping report about 6:39 pm & a CoCoRahs thunder report at 6:45 pm. Currently it is 54. High was 69. The Sierras above about 7,000 feet received their 1st snowfall of season from 31"s to 6"s. |
