Very windy and dry. The sand moves easily- Which is good to put down fresh in the mares' stall! Not so good for my pasture :( Silver is sprouting more white hairs, and growing like a weed. Her coat comes off during the day when it is fairly warm to acclimate her to the real world. I may have to tie a cinder block to her tail to keep her from blowing to Kansas today! |

Windy, warm during the day. Rain began to fall shortly before 9pm. Winds picked up again in the night, our electricity went off about midnight for 30 minutes. The back porch has a thick layer of ice so we are being very careful going in and out. Very wet snow, which makes my pasture and plants VERY happy!!! |

The lightning took out my computer router. Thank goodness for smart phones!! The rain poured down in sheets for a while then settled in for a nice steady rain. By morning all the puddles had soaked into the ground. I am hoping for more this week. |

About 2:30 we got heavy rain blown from the North. It was hard enough that I could barely see the barn from the house! A bit of drama last night with strong S winds rattling the house and heavy rain. Lightning was like a strobe light. It shook up the mares which is unusual so we braved the storm to check on them. The old mare couldn't see the weanling and she was really hollering. I put the baby in with her and everyone settled down for the night. |
