According to the article in the local newspaper by the Suwannee River Water Management District, we are 25% above normal for area rainfall. However, the plants, etc. in our local area show we are at the lower side of normal, one small dry spell away from a drought. The U. S. Drought Monitor shows us in normal rainfall as of July 1, 2014, with the nearest drought in Texas to the West of us, and where the Northern part of South Carolina meets with Georgia to the North of us. |
