Burst of moderate to locally heavy snow observed this morning. I about lost hopes for a white Christmas. Although it didnt amount to much, it did cover the ground, and I managed to record a tenth inch of snow, and squeeze out one hundredth inch of water collected from the gauge. Snowstorm Day 2. All falling snow ended during the evening hours yesterday. It was very tough to get an accurate measurement as most of the snow was blown clear off the board. I had to use my driveway to try and get some more accurate readings. The new snowfall over the last 24 hours is 5.3 inches. This combined with the 3.1 inches of snow that fell before the 24 hour period brings the storm total to 8.4 inches of snow. Extremely cold at observation time at -12F!! |

Another bitterly cold morning, but not quite as bitter as yesterday. Road conditions remains poor across town. We had so much snow on the roads that the City of Pontiac had to literally stack up the snow in large mounds in the middle of some streets downtown. |

It has been storming nearly continuously since I woke up to thunderclaps around 3:15 AM. It continues to rain with some lightning strikes and thunder. Some minor flooding is occurring in town Pontiac to poor drainage areas. |

These bands brought a period of moderate rainfall and some strong winds. I had my lightning detector going and it picked up a couple strikes at that time. |

Heavy thunderstorms observed in the area. I was awake and able to watch the activity last night carefully. Began to see some rain falling shortly after midnight, with little lightning activity.
