I observed two bands of lake effect snow here, there may have been others: one around 1pm, the other around 3:15pm. The second one was more intense than the first, having a couple of minutes of intense snow (vis < 1/4 mile). Both lasted 10-15 minutes and each dropped < 1/4" snow. Despite the cold, the sun came out between snow bands and only shaded areas have any trace of snow left. |

Lt-mod snow from about 8am-11am left about 0.2", which then quickly melted from (10-20 minutes) sunshine between the (15-30 minutes) bands of clouds with occ flurries or brief periods of lt snow. One intense snow squall around 2:30pm left another 0.1" in about 10 minutes (which quickly melted during the next sunny period). Only a trace of SWE was in the gauge this morning; the low humidity (40-60% between bands), dryness of the snow, and higher sun angle, led to the snow's quick disappearance (and probably some sublimation from the gauge).
