I took a core sample as illustrated in the training video and melted the snow by adding warm water. Subtracting the amount added resulted in .82" of precipitation from the sample which is totally out of line from others in the area reporting precip amounts from the storm. Since this was my first time measuring snow I question the result, especially when compared to others reporting in the area.
