Several wind-driven snow squalls from the N but with no accumulation. Wind diminished briefly and temperature dropped to upper 20s during the evening. Then NW winds increased again and blew much of the night 15-30 mph but with temperatures above freezing with downslope winds Patches of old snow remain in shaded areas

Melted some of the remaining shaded snowcover so I'm going to stop calling it a trace now. Then clouds increased and winds shifted dropping temperatures quickly and bringing in low upslope clouds. 4/17/2015 6:50 AM 1.68 2.0 M T M Precipitation yesterday morning became heavy snow from about 9:15AM to 11:30AM with max accumulation about 2" by noon, then snow continued part of the afternoon but with gradual melting. Snow turned to rain later in the afternoon. Very light at first but with rain intensity increasing after 6:30PM. Up to 0.95" rain and melted snow by 8:30 PM with still 0.5" snow left on ground. By morning rain had stopped temporarily and only a trace of snow on ground. Did obs around 6:50 AM. Heavy rain commenced again about 6:52 but that will go into my measurement for tomorrow. Probably at least 0.50" of the precip fell as snow yesterday AM -- very wet. High yesterday was about 38F, low 32F Currently 37F

Then clouds gathered over foothills midday and a thunderstorm rolled out early afternoon with a few claps of thunder and a period of brief heavy rain and strong winds before 2 PM Temperature dropped from 80s to low 60s and stayed cool the rest of the day with clearing skies. Low 49F with light winds and dew. My gauges could have missed a little rain as both have trees NW of them, and this rain blew in from that direction.
