Measured the last 24 hours at 15 minute intervals, the highest wind speed was 22.84 miles per hour and the minimum was 6.32 miles per hour. I was outside in the wind when it was at the highest speed and it felt high than that. There probably were higher gusts in between the interval reading times, or the bitter cold and hate of the extreme forecasted cold amplified the feeling of how fast the wind was blowing. The main water line did not freeze but the kitchen water line did as it is exposed to the cold air in an unheated house. |

No rain at this station. Was in the middle of the county during the afternoon and ran in, out, and through a severe storm. No way to report it due to the noise. Lightning all around us, some hitting the trees and ground, thunder, Heavy rain was sheeting across the road, hail, wind up to 70 mph, tree limbs of all sizes were being thrown around and into the roadway. Had no time to avoid at least some of them. Was not safe to pull over as no shelter and unfamiliar area so unsure of the shoulders. Came out of one cell and could see we were running a line between two more heavy cells. The storms were moving Northeast. |
