Current conditions for 10/01-except for some widely scattered Cirrus, the sky is clear, no precipitation in the past 24, the haze is light to moderate even though there is light air movement. It is first from the NW at 7 mph, then the SE at 2 mph, humidity 59% (yesterday, the reading was 44%), dew point 42°, current snow level is near 8000' [yesterday, it was near 5500'], observation time temperature was 43°, and the barometric pressure 30.11" and rising. Here are some interesting stats for SEPTEMBER- 1) total rainfall: 0.21" or about 53% of average. Unfortunately however, this "total" raised the total rain deficit through September to 3.67" from 3.48" the previous month, 2) number of days with no precipitation: 27, 3) high BP: 30.43" on 9/11, 4) low BP: 29.63" on 9/18, 5) date with low BP and no precipitation: 29.63" on 9/18, 6) date with high BP and precipitation: 29.89" on 9/22 (0.01"), 7) average BP: 29.97", 8) average morning temperature-a) official minimal: 51.5°, b) normal low: 47.8°, c) digital: 53.4°, 9) low morning temperature-a) official minimum: 36° on 9/12, b) digital: 38.3° on 9/12, 10) high morning temperature-a) official maximum: 68° on 9/19, b) digital: 68.5° on 9/19, 11) average afternoon temperature-a) official maximum: 82.9°, b) normal: 77.8°, c) digital: 76.2°, 12) low afternoon temperature-a) official minimum: 67° on 9/24, b) digital: 66° on 9/24, and 13) high afternoon temperature-a) official maximum: 94° on 9/07, b) digital: 92.7 on 9/27. |

The amount shown was recorded on October 11th. As low pressure off the central coast of BC brings wet weather to the Queen Charlottes, central and Southwestern coasts of BC and Vancouver Island, high pressure building over WY should keep Eastern WA dry today. However by mid week, one model shows this low pressure-mentioned above-moving inland over the Southern Alberta/Saskatchewan border-near the MT border-with a chance of showers for Eastern WA. In addition, a cold front associated with this low pressure system should track SE across the state and with its passage, cooler air will move in behind it over Eastern WA. Now as a case in point, even though today's high will likely reach the low 70's, the low to mid 60's should be the highs for the remainder of the work week. Mid afternoon weather for 10/12-overcast except for an area of partial clearing from the SW to the SE, temperatues are in the mid to upper 60's, BP 30.10"R along with light air movement from the NW. Current conditions for 10/13-mostly cloudy (scattered high thin clouds), no precipitation in the last 24, the haze is light to moderate even though there is light air movement. It is first calm, then from the South at 1 mph, humidity 74% (yesterday, the reading was 64%), dew point 46°, current snow level is near 10,500' [yesterday, it was near 6000'], observation time temperature was 44°, and the barometric pressure 30.01" and falling. |

The amount shown was recorded more than likely during the overnight. While warm weather will be relished by residence of the Northern Great Plains states, Eastern WA will remain cool with a chance of showers (one model-UW-shows a large band of light to moderate precipitation moving North by NE toward Spokane) through the end of the work week week (though there is the likelihood for up to 7" of SNOW above 5500' today). The highs through this period should reach the low to mid 60's. However, by the weekend, the "gloom" of the present fall weather in Eastern WA should give way to dry and pleasant weather as high pressure-currently centered over Western WY-builds over most of the PNW. Mid afternoon weather for 10/14-overcast (Altostratus translucidus and scattered lower level clouds), temperatures are in the mid to upper 60's, BP 29.68"F along with calm winds. Current conditions for 10/15-mostly overcast and scattered patchy fog, the haze is moderate as there is little or no air movement. It is calm, then from the ESE at 6 mph, humidity 99%, dew point 53° {yesterday, the readings were 54% and 43° respectively}, current snow level is near 5500', observation time temperature was 51°, and the baromeric pressure 29.56" and falling. |

It is believed that a correction is in order. It was mentioned yesterday that the rain deficit for this area was now at 1.98". The corrected total through DECEMBER is 1.35". In addition, the amount shown was the result of intermittent snow/rain showers throughout much of the morning even though a trace had been recorded at observation time yesterday. Current conditions for 2/03-overcast and foggy (though not on the deck) which completely obscures the ridges and peaks around the valley. The haze continues moderate to bad as there is little (calm to 2 mph from the South) or no air movement, no precipitation in the last 24, humidity 90%, dew point 32°, current snow level is near 4000', observation time temperature was 34°, and the barometric pressure 30.04" and falling. |
