Grass and dirt areas starting very light accumulation but rapidly increasing rate. Temperature at 33 deg F but dropping. Very low cloud deck. Roads wet. Rain all day and night, heavy at times. Checked rain gauge at 5 pm and it read 0.46 inches. Cool weather, about 20 deg F cooler than normal. No wind, breeze, lightning or thunder. Ground is super saturated but there is no flooding. Nearby creek is overflowing its banks slightly. Low clouds. Rain continues at time of reading. Temperature is 39 deg F. Ground is super-saturated.

A few sprinkles earlier in the reporting period. Heavy rain hit about 11 pm. At time of reading cooler than normal and very humid with almost 100 percent cloud cover. Ground super saturated with some standing water in dirt areas. New wireless sprinkler system rain monitor worked (it is attached to the same pole as the rain gauge used for these readings) and turned off the main sprinkler control system this morning. |

Amazing storm. In full force at 7 pm after a weak/sporadic start at 6 pm. Extensive lightning and thunder. At one point so much rain was coming down the gutters were overflowing.
At time of reading it was a beautiful morning with temperature at 68 deg F. Partly cloudy.
Even though there was so much rain, dirt mountain bike trails nearby were nearly dry which shows how dry everything was prior to the storm. Also worth noting how humid the air was prior to the rain starting at 6 pm. |
