Day started sunny and nice, maybe in the 50s? and then in mid-afternoon got colder and it started to rain. It wasnt a hard rain, but it quickly got everything very wet. At 11pm it was still just rain on the deck. Sometime during the night it turned to snow, and woke up in the morning 9am with everything covered in snow (eg, tree limbs). The gauge had water in it, with a floating wad of slushy snow. The snow had high moisture in it. It was not currently snowing. About 20-30 minutes after I took the measurement, I could hear snow clumps dropping from the tree limbs. |

It rained early in the morning, but stopped mid-morning and was dry by noon time. It was raining lightly in the mid-afternoon and it turned to snowing lightly in the early evening. Later, about 10pm it was ice under snow and very dangerous to drive or walk. In the morning, it was overcast with some wind. No precipitation. |

Chilly but mostly sunny day. At 2pm I looked outside and there was a light layer of snow, maybe 1/4". Looked out about 5-6am and nothing more. Went out at 9:40am and there was 5 inches of snow. It was light and the top layer looked like flakes (eg, corn flakes), and glistened a bit. It was still snowing sparsely. Temperature was 18 degrees. There was a very thin layer of ice under the snow, and coating both sides of the gauge's barrel (the big tube). Measuring it in several spots, it was mostly between 4.9" and 5.1" of snow. No sun 11/26 Thurs. morning, but bright. |

the snow left is hard and mostly 2" deep. Only ground close to the house is bare. The driveway still has snow, and normally it is one of the first places to dry up. The strip that was shoveled, going to the car is bare, and the final snow melted/fell off the car that has been parked for a week. Places where the car drove are hard ice. Nice day, mostly in the high 40s. |

A very cold day. At 11:15 am it was 22 degrees, and didnt seem to warm up much after that. In the afternoon and early evening, there were some occasional snowfalls but nothing accumulated on the ground. At first I couldnt tell if it was just snow blowing off the limbs, but followed some that fell straight down.== It was 12 degrees when taking this reading 12/17/15 at 9am. Snowed all day and night. At 1:30pm ice chunks started to fall off of the roof and some trees, and lasted maybe an hour. At 4pm, the depth was 4" (about an addtl. 2") and .13 in gauge. / I checked at 3:30, 6:30, and 9:30pm and it was still snowing. At 1:30am I did a measurement and 6" more had fallen, for a total of 10"; and there was .44 in the gauge. At that time it was snowing heavy enough to get my hair wet enough to towel-dry. // In morning, an addtl. 3" had fallen, for a total of 13.5" and .07 in the gauge. 24 hr. total .64 in gauge. // In afternoon it was snowing so heavy that you couldnt see more than 100 ft. -- a wall of falling snow. I arrived home approx. 5:20pm, and it was raining very hard, and mixed with hail. The rain was beating on my window so heavy that I couldnt see outside, and it was mixed with 1/2" hail pieces. The ground was covered with the hail, so it looked like it had been going on for maybe 10 minutes (approx. 2" to 3" betw. hail stones?) I sat in my car for at least 15 to 20 minutes until it calmed down, and then went inside. The hail had stopped, and it was only lightly raining. I think it may have rained another 15-30 minutes. There was .51 precipitation in the gauge when I went into the house and another .07 accumulated after that. In the morning it was sunny. |

Rained about 6:30pm; pretty heavy. I went to Estes Park and hit some very heavy rain that blinded me from the road about 4 miles outside of Estes. I dont know if it went over my area after that, which often does happen. There was no rain by the time I got back home about 1.5 hr. later. |

Sunny day. Some time around 10pm the whole eastern sky lite up with lighting. It was many miles away from us, and there was no rain or lighting where we are. We did not hear any thunder (from the distant storm). We counted 100 lightning strikes in 1 minute. We did this for several minutes. There were about 2 big hot spots, and a few miscellaneous broad flashes. |
