Rain started at 2PM on Tuesday and has rained lightly since then. Nice rain, we really needed it, as hadn't rained measurably since Sept.19. Had tried to pull some weeds and they were like cemented in the dry ground! More wouldn't hurt as we are still below normal.

Temp about 25 deg. wind 20mph gusting to 30mph, snowing with blowing snow, average of 7" of snow on the snow board. Took core sample as best I could, snow is a fairly wet snow. Not sure if it is completely accurate as I would like, but conditions not very favorable. Our first snow of the season is quite a a wild one!! It started with light flurrys about 4pm Friday aft. and worked its way up from there!
11/22/2015 7:00 AM M 4.2 M 11.5 M Total snowfall for 2 day storm, 11/20 and 11/21 starting Fri. at 4PM and ending Sat. at noon, was 11.2 inches on my snow board. Wind was 20 to 30MPH during event, making readings difficult, and also vey little snow landed in the gauge. Was unable to get to gauge on Sat. AM, but got to it this (Sun.) AM and found very little snow inside. Was 10 degrees out there! The first part of the snowfall reported on 11/21 was a heavy wet snow, and the snow that fell on todays report, the 4.2", was light and fluffy. Unable to get a melted value from the 4.2" this AM. The melted value from the gauge I brought in this morning with the 2 day snowfall was .29, however I don't think this is useable reading as there was barely an inch of snow from the 2 days in the gauge. The core reading yesterday report was a good one. Our first snow of the season started with a bang!! I thought it was great, I am a snow lover!

The gauge is in a different and more open location where it gets full force of the weather. I measured the board yesterday when the snow quit falling, so it is a fresh measurement, also.
