Today marks the 44th consecutive day without measurable rainfall, which is 1 day shy of my record 45 consecutive days set back earlier this summer in July-August. It appears as this record will finally end as SHRA has become widespread and will move over my area later this morning.

This marks the first measurable rain I have observed at my station for the last 44 days, the 2nd longest streak during my nearly 9 years of observations, behind my longest streak set earlier this summer.

So far, the 27 hour storm total is 6.85 inches with more rain on the way!

While most of the overnight was dry, more -RA began to move in just prior to/during the observation time this morning.

Due to my work schedule and periods of heavy rain and the irregular times of my observations, I felt it best to send in a multi day report. The heaviest rain fell on the 8th-10th, where 13.07 inches of rain fell, which was the most of any 48 hour period in my 8+ years of records. This resulted in extreme flooding of my neighborhood as well as Shreveport/Bossier City. The water was 1.5-2 feet deep in my front yard and 12-15" deep in my back, and was 15-20 feet from entering my home Wednesday morning, 3/9. This historic flood ranks as a 200 year flood across South SHV, but reports of 18-20+ inches were received just to my east over Southeast SHV and especially central and Southern Bossier Parish. Given these extreme amounts over such a large area (all of North LA), this flood easily outranks the greatest flood in record for this area, April 15th, 1991.
