Flood watches already issued for many counties in NC, from the Coast, Piedmont as well as the Mountains. Union County is under a flood watch, but could be updated to flood warnings, depending on the track of these storms today and throughout the weekend.

Severe amounts of rain predicted for many parts of NC, including Union County, throughout today and the entire weekend. Low pressure system in addition to the movement of Hurricane Joaquin could bring torrential rain and gusty winds to our area, with concerns of extreme flooding which could cause downed trees and power lines. The governor has declared a state of emergency to the entire state of NC.
10/3/2015 8:30 AM 2.60 M M M M Heavy rain continues, with gusty winds and saturated ground. Temp is 50 degrees.Flood warnings overnight, and currently flash flood watch in effect until Sunday. Bands of precipitation coming from Hurricane Joaquin will move west of our area this morning, but more rain expected later on today and tomorrow from Low Pressure systems. High winds across the county and most of NC today. Some areas have flooded roads and small streams. Some power outages in Union County, but more reports south and east of here.
