11.8mm of rain so far starting sometime after midnight and predicted to continue all day. After all the super weather we've had this fall, guess we can stand a day of rain. About 9C this morning, so the temps are comfortable for getting wet. |

A band of light showers moved through the area around 3pm and again at 9pm. Only 0.6mm in Cobalt. The heaviest I encountered in my drive around the north end of Lake Temikaming between 3-4pm was in St. Bruno de Guige, Quebec. Never fails. I go to visit my friends at their cottage and the wind blows hard and it rains. |

Hate to say it but that trace was for snow. Just a few flakes floating down in the morning to remind us how cold it got. Light frost as well. This cold snap really accelerated the leaves changing. Our big white pine has dropped all its needles and there's cedar seeds everywhere. |

Great thunderstorm! The leading edge of the warm front moved in fast with tons of lightning and a constant rumble of thunder for about 15minutes. Started at 4:05am, first rain at 4:10 and a deluge at 4:15 for 8 minutes, then the rain eased off. About 8mm fell in the deluge with a total of 11.6mm overnight. Temps went from near 0C (high of 2C yesterday) up to 19C this morning. Wonder which season we'll have tomorrow. |

With the high winds over the last 2 days, the real total snow is hard to say. I got 7cm at my usual measuring spot but I'll bet the rest of it has blown up against the rocks and trees. The snow is drying out and compacting rapidly. There was 6.2mm melted in the gauge this morning, The snow was fine flakes again yesterday, pretty well all day stopping sometime during the night. Added up a total of 28.0cm over about 80 hours. |

A fine dusting (trace) of snow overnight and frost on the outside of the gauge. Temp in the mid -20's. Glad we don't get lake effect snows here - just Colorado Lows. Waiting for it over the next 2 days. Lake Temiskaming had a fine layer of ice yesterday that broke up with the wind. Yesterday was an "everything but the kitchen sink" day, but we lucked out on intensity and amounts. A total of 5.5mm fell off and on starting with freezing rain then changing to rain, snow, snow grains and ice pellets. The temp held at -18C for most of the day until the evening when it rose rapidly to +2C. Roads and walking were okay once the snow grains came in late morning, but the evening ended with a brief, heavy freezing rain/ice pellet mix hat left a dangerous coating on everything. There was just a trace of granular snow on the cars this morning. I'm leaving the snow depth in the yard at 25.5cm. It's too treacherous to try to get there to measure. |

The morning started out bright and sunny, but by noon there was light cloud and dry, fine snow falling. Typical of mid-winter. 1.0cm accumulation,0.3mm melted and 31.8cm on the ground. Temps are up and down almost daily it seems. One day it's -20C and the next near 0C. Tylenol is flying off the shelves to cope with arthritis. The flu-like bug seems to have passed through most of the population and is on the wane. |

Just what we needed. 17.3mm of rain dropped the snow level at the stick to 25.0cm. Snow left is granular ice and loose. One more good rain should take it way down. The sunny half of the yard is bare. A clear sunny morning so the snow should drop fast today as well. |

The snow finally stopped late in the day. Shouldn't complain - it's not accumulating. There was 1.0cm of snow in the collector which melted to 2.2mm of water. Just an thin frosty layer left on the porch this morning. The sun is out and the temps are above freezing again. More and more birds are returning every day. Around 7pm last night a flock of about 100 arrived in our trees in the backyard, chirped excitedly for about a half hour and then moved on to roost for the night. The birds are now waking me up early every morning. Love it! Last report for the weekend. |

It's Sunday, so it must be snowing. Just very fine and very light little flakes that started about 9:30pm and continuing this morning. Had 8.4mm of rain during the day. We got lucky on the amount. We don't need the moisture right now and all our excess run-off ends up in the Ottawa River. They don't need it either. |
