Yesterday temp remained @ 0º all day & it snowed leaving app 6 inches plus.Hard to measure with so much wind. Going back to the 4th-- we had .10 of rain that turned to snow ,about 1 1/2" overnight. (Don't think I had this in my report.) Today roads remain terrible, but it is starting to melt as I write this report. This isn't unusual for this time of year. A mess then Indian Summer. Fingers crossed, its been a funny year.

At 3PM I noticed shelf clouds developing & the wind picked up to 30+ & it became a nasty day. Up until that time it was warm 14º. Expect we will get some of the scattered showers that are around. The snow has all melted. Today I dug some bulbs that weren't damaged by the recent frost.

By 9 PM it started in with big wet flakes that stuck to everything. Lasted till 10 PM, giving us 1"of sugary wet sticky snow. Cleared off overnight/ stars shining.

Wind is picking up causing the snow to blow around. Yesterdays H 0º, sunny till noon then clouded over with snow starting by 4 PM. Stuck to trees & things, winter wonderland.

Yesterday started out a cold -27º, but warmed steadily all afternoon to -8º by 4 PM& continued to rise all night. As the temp rose so did the wind pick up causing drifting snow. It was a mix of sun & cloud all day yesterday.

Between 8:30& 9:30 we had rain that switched to snow, giving app. half inch; more was reported in other areas around here. THERE ARE SNOWBALLS EVERYWHERE, first time we have seen this.

Yesterdays H, -2º, sunny but ground drifting from Moose Jaw south. Was at Rosthern for Xmas. It was overcast/ winds 10-15K, raw days. Temp was -17º. There is little snow there, just ground cover, but not enough skidoo.

It was a nasty day, blowing things around so I was not surprised by the first T storm of the year.

There was some pea sized hail, that was soft & did little damage. Varying amounts of rain fell in this district from half inch - one & one half inches. Thomson Lake had heavy hail but no damage to trailers. Then around 10 PM it rained here again. Once again there was lightning but little thunder.

12/10/2016 12/11/2016 8:00 AM 2 0.50 M M The BP has been as high as 30.1 as the cold system moved in. Today it is @ 29.95. Temps over the last 4 days have registered -26º to a high of -16º yesterday. Temp this AM is -26º. It has been overcast / wind picking up & blowing snow around. Last night it snowed from 9 - 10 PM giving another 1/2". This AM started sunny, but soon developed into a frosty haze, wind 7K.
1/4/2017 1/05/2017 7:00 AM 2 T 8.0 M This report covers Jan. 3d, to today. The BP has remained @ 30 for last 3 days. The 3d & 4th were cold / frost crystals, fine snow & blowing snow giving us a skiff each day. Temps ranged from a low of -24º to -17º for a high. Today its clear & calm. Temp low was -17º @ 7 AM but dropped to -20º @ sunup. Wind is just a breeze.
1/30/2017 1/31/2017 8:00 AM 2 M M M I'm back. Most of the snow has melted in this area after a long, warm spell. I understand that temps were + 5& 6. Things have changed since I got home. Today the BP is 29.72, the temp -9º, the wind 5+K & gusty. As of 11 AM lite snow started & it has picked up intensity ever since. The flakes are lite & fluffy, almost like frost crystals. Yesterday was overcast, then switched to a mix of sun & cloud. Temp H -4º.
2/4/2017 2/05/2017 8:00 AM 2 0.75 M M BP 29.9, starting to drop; temp -20º, soon rising to -15º; snow flurries over the last 2 days have left switch a nice layer snow. Just had call from Lafleche area where they say they have had 3 inches of snow & its starting to rain.. Wind is calm.
2/10/2017 2/11/2017 7:00 AM 2 T M M BP 29.49; temp -5º; windy 15K+. Today is mainly clear/ few scattered clouds. Yesterday BP 29.4; temps -10º - a3º; wind was calm. A melting day. On the 9th we got storm stayed in Moose Jaw. Attempted to come home @ 2PM but had to turn around as it was raining & coating the windshield / ice. Reports from Lafleche said it was worse the further S you went.

5/7/2017 5/08/2017 7:00 AM 2 0.25 M M Bp 29.6, a rise from yesterdays 29.55; temp yesterday 15º- 26º - 14º, todays L 5º. wind was calm yesterday, but today it is 10+K. Yesterday was overcast/ showers to sunny & hot to overcast again. Rain started around 9 PM, lasting till 10 PM. Today was sunny @ 6 AM, but by 7 grey fog clouds had rolled in.
5/10/2017 5/11/2017 7:00 AM 2 0.00 M M BP has remained steady for last 3 days @ 29.8, winds have been calm - 10K; temps have ranged from 4-21º. Some afternoons we have had scattered clouds, but no showers, good news for farmers who are spraying, seeding & combining.
5/18/2017 5/19/2017 7:00 AM 2 T M M 17th-- BP 29.68, temp 6º-9º, wind 10K. A heavy grey misty AM till noon, then just overcast. 18th -- BP29.92; temps -1º- 15º; wind 10; sunny day. Today-- BP 29.98; temp 3º; wind gusty @ 12K; Hazy sun.
6/16/2017 6/17/2017 7:00 AM 2 0.09 M M BP 29.62 for theist several days. Shower on 13th netted .09, few spits on 16th. Everyday we expect it to shower as its overcast & threatening but nothing comes. The air is humid which helps. A good rain is needed in this area, as the soil surface is dry but there is lots of subsoil moisture. Temperature remains cool with H of 17º.
6/21/2017 6/22/2017 7:00 AM 2 M M M BP has been @ 29.7 for several days. Temperature remains old for this time of year, perhaps a good thing as we have had no moisture. It remains windy with gusts into the 40 K range. Today it is once again windy, app 20K +. Day started out sunny but by 10:30 AM it has clouded over/ few spits. There is enough moisture below but late crops will have trouble germinating.

7/28/2017 7/29/2017 7:00 AM 2 M M M BP 29.9 as it has been for the last several days; temp 15º a bit cooler than the last several days; winds are usually in the 7-10 K range. Sky is usually hazy sun/ scattered clouds. Expect it is smoke . Last night around 2:30 PM there was lightning all across the southern sky. Expect Montana got quite a storm. Today as I write this 3:30 PM we are clouded over with a storm passing by. No rain but it shuts off the oppressive heat. Temp @ 30º.
8/18/2017 8/19/2017 7:00 AM 2 0.10 M M On 14th there were scattered showers in area, lesser amount here.Since then e have ben under a smokey haze, with temps in the 24-28º range. It has been mainly calm but today are gusty in the 17K range. Harvest of peas & lentils has begun.

9/4/2017 9/05/2017 7:00 AM 2 0.10 M M BP 30.1; temp 4º; wind calm; mix of sun & clouds. A T-storm on 3d @ 9 PM gave us a shower. Frost warning issued late in day yesterday had us worried, but none here. Yesterday a prairie fire in the Glentworth area had to be extinguished by 2 water bombers from PA.
9/10/2017 9/11/2017 7:00 AM 2 M M M Was away for few days to west side of province. All areas look like here, dry , no rain all summer. The danger of fire is great & ranchers are posting their land with NO HUNTING. Today we have lots of smoke, BP 30, where its been all summer, temp was 10º, wind gusty @ 10K.
9/28/2017 9/29/2017 7:00 AM 2 M M M BP 29.95; temp 10º; wind gusty 10 K; clear, sunny sky. Yesterday a similar day with H 19º. Over the last few days the BP has remained steady, with similar conditions, sometimes a hazy sky. Harvest has resumed.
