10/1/2016 8:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
10/2/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M We need some measurable rain.
10/3/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Started watering the plants again as we have not had appreciable, measurable, rain in over a week. It is indeed now autumn, but we still need the rain.
10/4/2016 9:00 AM 1.48 M M M M Severe thunderstorm rolled through later yesterday afternoon and evening. 1.1 inches of this total was reported as a significant weather report as well as a report of almost being hit by 2 separate bolts of lightning. Thunder report completed. Have not seen this bad of a storm for a while, since even before Hurricane Hermine came through.
10/5/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M looked promising but none
10/6/2016 9:00 AM T M M M M Rain heard falling very lightly. Falling rain felt on skin but there was not enough in rain gauge to cover the bottom.
10/7/2016 9:00 AM 0.03 M M M M
10/8/2016 9:00 AM 0.24 M M M M Lots of wind. Any rain we received fell as a fine mist type rain, heavier than a fog but not really rain. Lost power more and more as the hurricane pulled away.
10/9/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
10/10/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Cool enough this morning. Compared to recent weather, this is cold. Wind is up, so would not be surprised to see a wind chill reading.
10/11/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
10/16/2016 9:00 AM 1.22 M M M M Thunderstorm approached from the SE going NW. Rain continued on it's way but also built over us giving us over an hour of rain in varying intensities. Thunder report completed.
10/17/2016 9:00 AM T M M M M Completely cloudy/foggy by early morning. Fog lifting at report time.

11/3/2016 9:00 AM T M M M M Heard the rain yesterday morning as it came down the street. Heard it, saw it, smelled the aroma - but nothing in the rain gauge. Drats!

11/18/2016 9:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Still no rain. Checked the United States Drought Monitor Index that was released the morning of Nov. 17, 2016, with the readings through Nov. 15th, and it shows my county smack dab into a D0-D4 Drought. It is the first level of drought. Several counties around me are also in the drought. The map shows that 3 months ago, the drought was just NW of us across the Suwannee River and moving East (into the county North of us). Last week. almost the entire Northern part of North Florida was in the drought. This week, the area of drought in Northern Florida is getting smaller, though nobody is getting rain. Dew visible again this morning.

12/6/2016 9:00 AM 1.14 M M M M The last band of rain from this front started falling just after the rainfall reading. Prepare, if not already, for the cold. Freezing temps expected in a few days. The weather we have been and are currently seeing appears to be the exact opposite of what the long-range forecast has been saying - all of the long-range forecasts. There were some strong downpours of rain through the overnight and early morning hours, but most of the rain fell at a steady moderate rate. The dry, drought-ground was able to soak it up as it fell so there was no flooding. This was our second measurable rainfall in two weeks and more is forecasted. Maybe this is the return to our new normal?

1/7/2017 9:00 AM 1.00 M M M M Rain, thundershowers and thunderstorms started rolling through in the mid-evening hours on 1/6/17 and did not stop until almost 5 a.m. the morning of 1/7/17. It was the usual rain pattern of a really cold front moving into really warm air in the near middle of winter in the South. Rain amounts were light to just beginning to be moderately heavy. With no warning to us the wind suddenly started racing even on ground level and the rain stated coming down very heavy. The first blast came through and was followed by a second, then it started getting COLD. In the first blast, we could hear a very tall tree in our neighbor's yard cracking as if it was about to come down. In the second blast, we did not hear it. This morning's light showed the 30 foot tree had been split almost into halves and the part that fell had twisted away from the trunk. It fell in the only direction where it did not hit a house or a vehicle. There was a warning put forth for this weather, but the storms' location in the warning was right on top of us. We were ground zero for the development of a backward C-shaped storm bow that raced to the NE at 50 mph. Most of our rain came from that time. Damage was tree limbs down of varying sizes. Camphor tree tops were ripped off some of the trees (that's fie). There was a slight twisting seen on the limbs.

1/22/2017 9:00 AM 1.20 M M M M Rain fell in two nasty cells that moved through after 5 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2017. The first cell was the milder cell with 0.70 inches of rain (the larger amount) falling in 2 intense driving bursts, but the lightning and overall strength of the storm was the weaker of the two. The second cell produced the rest of the rain, but with almost constant lightning and thunder for 20 minutes and this was the cell a warning went out on. The alert stated a large amount of cloud to ground lightning but at this station it was all in the clouds, frequently without thunder. Will complete not only the thunder report but also a Conditions Monitoring Report. More severe weather is on the horizon at report time. Wind is quite strong and getting stronger.
1/23/2017 9:00 AM 0.05 M M M M PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ACCURATE READING OF WHAT CAME DOWN REGARDING RAINFALL! The squall line winds and the driving rain were so strong when the line came through they blew down my rain gauge. Only 0.03 was in the gauge after it was picked up. 0.02 fell later in the afternoon and evening. Using years of past experience and looking at the condition of the ground, flooding, etc., comparing to what it was just before the line came through, at least 1 inch of rain fell. However, we report only what is in the gauge. There was also pea size hail that arrived about 5 minutes after the deluge started. Hourly official written down readings did not take place, but the gauge was read after each cell.

These series of cells started moving through at 9:15 p.m. and didn't stop until 7:30 a.m. this morning. The cells were electrically intense. If these had hit us during the daytime with the heating of the day, we could easily have been in trouble. It sounded like there was sleet mixed in with the rain after 2 a.m. There was no wind once the sun went down. It had been very breezy during the afternoon. The wind readings say the highest the wind got was 24 miles an hour, but it only reads every 15 minutes, and a lot of readings get missed due to this reading technique.

Got wet by raindrops from the skies - no birds anywhere close. Big spurt of rain hitting me and around me, slacked off a bit. Moved into another area of the yard and got wet again. There were 2 outflows. There were 2 'in-flows',which are usually not seen in this part of the country. The storm started like any other thunderstorm. The entire rain fall came within one (1)hour. After 10 minutes, the storm intensified. The wind started almost roaring, the intensity of the rain picked up to where it was a solid dark Grey wall. Trees were bending almost completely in half. Pebble size hail started and lasted for 3 minutes. Not much lightening was observed but the storm started producing copious amounts of thunder The air temperature dropped dramatically moments before the hail began. It felt like in the past when thunderstorms collapsed over us bringing cold air from up high in the atmosphere down to Earth. Our outside dogs had been inside due to a previous cell and had gone back outside to take care of business. They could not get back inside fast enough before this cell struck. Thunder report completed. . The temperature of the ait became quite cold just before and long after, the hail

7/14/2017 9:00 AM 1.16 M M M M 1.09 of the above total rainfall has been already reported yesterday as a significant weather report. 2 severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for this location yesterday afternoon, half an hour apart. We had 172 sounds of thunder, and a period already reported of continuous thunder. No hail observed but either sleet or some very heavy raindrops near the beginning of the storm. Some lightening observed, but nowhere near the amount to match the thunder. Some of the bolts hit quite close. Some of the near thunder, and also some many miles away, were especially loud and crisp. Wind was ruffling the tree leaves and small branches. For this exact location we had a storm last week that was much worse that was not reported as severe. These storms yesterday did in areas meet the severe criteria but it did not happen at this specific station. Not that we wanted it to!

Sky was very dark. rain here fell heavily like a thick curtain but only for a few minutes. No observable lightning. Little thunder. No hail or even moderate winds. Cell approached from the west and dwindled as it butted up against the edge of the bigger cell and joined but mainly dissipated.

8/21/2017 9:00 AM 0.16 M M M M This was an interesting storm to witness live and on radar. Radar showed a powerful, red, warned cell that should have tried to drown this station. The tops of the trees towering over our 2-story home looked like horses nodding their heads up and down fiercely. But little wind, rain and no hail on the ground. The light show was primarily cloud to cloud and continued for hours after the cell moved on. The rain stayed with us for hours as well.
