Some rain had already fallen. At 7:30 am, it began to pour providing most of the moisture that I measured at 0.66" at 8 am. Yesterday was unseasonably warm. We were able to sit out on the deck for a glass of wine at 4:30 pm in very comfortable 70's temperatures. Yesterday's high was 83.5°.

It rained most of yesterday morning and into the early afternoon. We did see a brief period of sun later in the afternoon.

There is substantial dew on the gauge and everything else this morning after a clear night which fell to 39.7° overnight. It is clear and sunny this morning.

The ground was only damp leading me to think that the mist/rain occurred recently within the last hour or so.

We have had showers and thundershowers since before I woke up this morning. We have mild temperatures for this time of year and day. Almost a half an inch of rain has fallen in the last 4-5 hours.

It is sunny this morning, but definitely not warm. At least it is not windy.

The gauge held 1.15" of rain, but the amount of wind and the intensity of the storms could have made that reading inaccurate. After I checked the gauge and took my reading, it started raining again. There was fog in the air as we change from a day that reached 60.1° yesterday to a colder day today.

It is cooler this morning due to a cold front which passed through last evening.

The solar eclipse should start around 11:30 am in our area and last until 2:45 pm with the height of the eclipse about 1:20 pm. This morning, the sun is rising into a hazy sky with pleasant but humid temperature. We had our 0.01" of rain sometime over night.

Yesterday we were forecast to have significant rain in the late afternoon/evening which just disappeared as the the line of storms approached Valparaiso. This often happens where storms approach and then dissipate before doing any good in our area. I wonder why.
